Around the Big East 19/20

After today’s addition of Jalin Billingsley, Georgetown sits with the 20th ranked class in America.

Hoyas adding in the toughness category this summer. Will look for the home-run next with Chet Holmgren, Pat Baldwin, Efton Reid, Aminu Mohammed in sight.
Ewing may get an extension at this rate
I think Ewing has a 2 yr plan to get Georgetown back to the upper division of the BE. Again guys even with them being down and after last year's disappointment Georgetown and Ewing still hassome cache in the recruiting game. And his plan is to rebuild the roster to have them ready to breakthrough in 2021-22. He is not going to get fired even with a poor year this year which most expect. I mean if you plan on giving him only 1 more year to make the NCAA's you might as well fire him now because that is very unlikely to happen. But he also knows that he won't get much longer before the knives will be out. Last year was supposed to be the big year and he had the roster initially at least before it fell apart. So he is going to get a 2 yr run here I believe.
I agree with everything you say here Fordham. I think Ewing will get two years but have tremendous pressure to show something in a year when most of the talent he's recruiting now will be freshman (although I guess the pandemic will possibly mess with timelines here)

I will add though that I don't think he has much room for error. By that I mean if something else happens this upcoming season around the program but not necessarily on the court. Players getting in somewhat significant off-court trouble, another mass-exodus of players transferring, a whiff of a scandal, etc...Ewing is immensely likable and has built up much goodwill but alot of coaches without that type of affection would have been out last year with that combination of transfers/off-court issues when combined with a lack of results on the court. On court issues, he has a bit more rope. Off court/culture/just being plain unlucky...I don't know if he can survive another public debacle.
