Preseason number 1 with the #1 recruiting class coming in the following year. You literally cant do any better then that. Amazing.
That class will not hold up as the #1 class in the nation, but still JW has turned the program into a well oiled machine. There is no way that STJ can reach that status in 3 years, Chicago Days. Knocking on the door to remind Nova that they're upwardly mobile neighbors, sure, but it would take 5-10 highly productive years on the court and in the living rooms to get STJ to where Wright has Nova.

BREAKING: Georgetown University will not invite first-year students to campus in the fall and will host all classes online, the administration announced July 29. The university had announced it would house first-year students on campus and host some classes in a hybrid format.

You mean being 'in the conversation' by '23 - '24, being 'relevant', not in the same Suite but maybe having a room on 'that' floor? I'll take that. Count me in.

Yes, that's not a prediction though, just my estimate of a ceiling.

Steele & Xavier really play transfer game well to fill specific needs.

Goodman
Hampton transfer F Ben Stanley has committed to Xavier. Nice pickup for Travis Steele. Will be interesting to see if he can get a waiver and play this season for the Musketeers. Tough, high-energy, productive big man.

Couldn't agree more. Have a feeling he will be very productive for them.

This isn't good for fall/winter sports. I can't see schools logically having all online/no campus and host student athletes. I know it's all about money, but that just wouldn't send the right message. I would also expect many student athletes to sit out like a VT football kid did today.

I dont think this will apply to the students who play basketball. They dont want the campus packed with kids. 15 basketball players showing up to practice will be fine.

That’s not the issue. The problem is how can you have no students on campus but allow “student” athletes on campus. That’s like admitting that you don’t care about the athletes health because it’ll make you a couple bucks.

Love that schools like them and Butler hire from within and create a true program and culture.

It is the issue. They dont want thousands of students packed on campus. Kids can learn from home. The basketball team cannot play st johns virtually.

As far as I am concerned, college sports should be out for at least the fall semester. Sports fans can hopefully get some enjoyment from MLB and the NBA if they can keep it healthy. No way we should expect college kids to play when more and more schools are not expecting students to be on campus. We can live without it so our young people (and their families) can stay safe.
My son has heard that 4 of his 5 classes at App State are on-line and the 5th class is mostly on-line. No way we are sending him to school, which is a relief since we are both in our 60s. Time to be smart.

Maybe all the ACC schools intend on having students on campus. My nephew is an incoming frosh at the U and they intend on progressing business and dorms as usual. He's expected on campus by Aug 11. They are out of their fucking mind but want/need the $$$. It's not like there's any issues with COVID in the south. LOL

________

"The U" has done an amazing job pivoting over the past 30 years from being "Suntan U" to a solid academic institution [US News #57].

I have two co-workers with daughters going into their junior years both of whom are doing well academically. My co-workers rave about the school.

They could if coached by Bill Walton and Cheech Marin.
