Around the Big East 19/20

I have a very hard time saying this, but Patrick Ewing is a good coach, much more so than our own imortal player Chris Mullin.

I have to give Cooley credit even though I hate to.

Finally, Kevin Willard why aren't you our coach, you are good too.

I am one who liked Lavin.

Seeing Bobby Knight yesterday on TV was hard to watch, he looks so out of it and one who has had parents like that it is tough.
 
From looking at the standings, one can assume Providence will want Wednesday's game badly.

I don’t think any of us fans , nor the School’s Officials , have a clue as to why DePaul and St John’s have turned into constant BE Doormats . It’s more than Coaching . Lavin and Anderson had impressive Resumes . Mullin was a Icon . This past year 4 Coaches turned us down before Coach Anderson accepted the job . Big Talent Local players have avoided us like we didn’t exist . We all see Achiwua , Quinones, Cockburn, Gaffney a d others all playing elsewhere . What’s wrong ? It’s a unanswered problem . The Losing has taken a toll . We haven’t competed for a BE Championship in 2 Decades . Even Seton Hall , in our own backyard , has had far greater success than we have had . How come ? Sad, not only for us Old Timers but , even the more recent Alums and fans have to be discouraged . Coach Anderson will get his chance to turn it around . The rest of us will hope .

For the first time the Big East has FIVE teams in the AP Top 25:
#10 Seton Hall
#15 Villanova
#18 Marquette
#19 Butler
#23 Creighton

New AP poll is out and half of the @BIGEASTMBB is in it. Seton Hall back in top 10 at No. 10, followed by Villanova at 15, Marquette 18, Butler 19 and Creighton 23.
 
Kudos to all the newest Big East members. They've brought their rich traditions of winning basketball in smaller conferences and elevated it to the national stage. Butler, Creighton and Xavier have all been ranked in the AP top 10 at least once since they've made the jump. The league can only go up from here if the old guard like Georgetown and SJU can get it together.

That's pretty incredible that all 3 of the newcomers have made the AP Top 10 considering I don't think most of the C7 (Providence/St. John's/DePaul/Georgetown) have in that time.

I truly believe that this DePaul team has to be the most disappointing team in the BE. We weren’t expected to go far, but with the guys Leito brought in, I really thought they’d be in the running for an NCAA bid. His overall record is pretty abysmal.

This Hall - Creighton game is a corker. Creighton doesn't have much depth but other than that an excellent team.

I've said for awhile McDermott is best coach in the BE. He gets the most with less 'talent'. Sure Jay gets 4 stars but McDermott is consistently there with easy on the eyes ball to boot.

I'm trying to remember if she was defending his coaching or his shoplifting. LOL
