Around the Big East 19/20
Marquette to me is a one trick pony depending on Howard too much. As good as he is, losing Hausers was huge on scoring and size fronts. M’Q has struggled with physical teams in past & now more so.
Although Howard certainly capable of having a big game against us, it's going to be tough for him. Justin Simon used to give him fits, every time. Now, we have 3 or 4 Simon's on the court at all times.

I think the hall is going to wax Gtown regardless is mcclung plays or not. They are bad.

Ro Gill, SH big man, is a good example of patience, hard work & player development. 17 points, 8 boards, 4 blocks for RG last night.

With the new staff in place this is what I believe we can now look forward to as SJU fans. Those stats last night were just outstanding and I am not saying we currently have someone on the roster who can match that , but I believe the era of hero ball that we witnessed under the prior two staffs with players like DLo and Shamorie will be less prevalent and there will be more of a solid team effort. I love that we have had different players step up this season to be the outstanding player of the game and more importantly players we never thought were ready to have outstanding games like Rutherford, Roberts, Champagnie, Earlington, Williams, Dunn.
Much easier to control player development than recruiting. For the first time in a very long time I feel That SJU men’s bball is on the correct track.

Absolutely, I thought RG looked completely lost on the floor last year. Really impressive growth.

I said the same thing to someone last week Aubie.
I didn't want Lavin or Mullin as HC but they both had some initial success building a staff, bringing in some solid players and winning games. Even so, it never felt sustainable. Especially once their warts were revealed.
This is different. You can see the plan in place and how its executed, from the smallest details to the biggest ones. I'm not sure where this ride will take us, but it does finally feel like we are on the right track.

Every big east game is interesting, but today's PC at DePaul game is at the top of the list.

Has PC turned the corner? Does DePaul bounce back or do they start out 0-2 at home in the Big East?

I think DePaul is for real (though not enough depth), but I would not bet against PC.

AT THE HALF:

Butler 34
Creighton 24

Kamar Baldwin is very much not 100% (0-9 FG, 0 pts, 0 ast, 0 reb, 2 TO) but the Bulldogs are still winning by double digits regardless. Thanks in large to Sean McDermott, who has 12 points at the half

Marcus Zegarowski has 12 for the Jays
