Around the Big East 19/20

The more I watch butler, the more impressed I am that we had a handful of their players eyeing up the exits of CA midway through the second half

Agreed, they look solid. There was at least one poster that had watched Butler prior to our game and repeatedly claimed they had nothing. Not sure what they were watching.

I love Marcellus and am thrilled with his development and look forward to him contributing as he has done this season over the course of the next 2.5 seasons. Nothing as of yet indicates he will be a star but with continued hard work he will be a very valuable member of the rotation.

Marquette ends Villanova's 6-game winning streak, beating the Wildcats 71-60

PC over DP 66-65

This is why I am not sure you can sat that the conference has a big 3 just yet. Villanova, Butler and Seton Hall all look good but on any given day, Marquette, DePaul, Xavier, Providence and Creighton can give them a run for there money. Georgetown with all of their problems may wind up being the weakest team.

These Big East Refs are horrible. They call a B.S. foul on Paul Reed with .07 left on the clock in tie game and Providence hits one of two foul shots and they win the game. Should have been a no call and overtime. How do you make that call with less than a second left in the game. Ridiculous!!

Nova only shot 5 free throws all game to Marquettes 30.
Home field advantage!!
Providence 2-0, DePaul 0-2.
Who would have thought?
Anyone in a coma during this years non conference slate

Agreed, there is no big 3, just talking head nonsense. The league is wide open and playing the second games of an 18 game schedule. Way too early to discern anything.

Worse was the non-call a second before when Diallo was blatantly pushed in the back out of bounds as he had his hands on the ball and was preparing to lay it in off the original missed shot. Either way Providence deserved to be on the line. DePaul actually got a break because Watson shoots fouls at 37and change %.

IMO, there was a foul before Watson being fouled. The refs missed the initial foul if you ask me. I'm a believer if it's a foul at any, other point in the game; it's also a foul at the end of the game.

This.

About three weeks back the same hack tweeted that the BE was not as good as predicted after a few OOC conference losses. Immediately following that the league went on the tear that included our Arizona win.

Understood Logan and Dink. With less than a second left , at that point let the players decide the game. But I totally understand what you guys are saying. I just hate the referees deciding games Like that. Sometimes I think the refs should officiate in the spirit of the game so to speak. Let the players decide the game. Although, if it happened to us , I’d probably be the first one complaining , LOL. So I get it. Be well gentlemen.

Providence up 1 point on Depaul who has to inbound the ball with a tenth of a second (.1 second) left 94 feet from the basket yet Friar defenders are contesting the inbounds play in the backcourt risking a foul when only a tip play can beat you. Notre Dame up 4 contests 3 point shot by Joe Girard of Syracuse in final couple of seconds which he hits and almost draws a foul to give them a chance to tie the game. Really question what some of the coaches and players are thinking in end of game situations.
