Around the Big East 19/20

Georgetown struggling and losing to American right now who is 4-6. I think we are gonna hammer Georgetown this year as they have little depth.

Agreed. The way we play d and team ball, we are going to surprise in the big east this year.

McClung is out for the rest of the game with an eye injury.

Georgetown leads American 41-32 at the half.

Marquette beating Central Arkansas by 50 with about six minutes to go. Announcers giving BE lots of respect.

I can’t stand McClung but eye injuries can be devastating. I hope for his sake it is nothing serious and that he is back and ready to play in the very near future.

So North & McClung don’t see “eye to eye“ on things.

Jan. 9th sounds about right to me.;)

Very interesting stat from Zags:

Butler, St John's and DePaul were picked 8-9-10 in the Big East and are a combined 34-4 with the league's three best non conference records entering today.

Maybe they should make eye wear mandatory Eye covering is light wt and could save young players eyes from a bad accident

Yeah, let’s make more rules because someone got poked in the eye. We need less rules everywhere, not more damn intrusion. $hit happens, it’s called life.

Totally agree. That targeting rule in college football is just plain stupid. And why do they have to wear helmets anyway? Concussions, brain damage? Shit happens

Helmets long ago became more weapons than protection because brain damage is generally not caused directly by contact but by the whiplash affect on the brain. At least that is my understanding from the reading I have done. I do not think you have the long term health problems with rugby players because without equipment it is an entirely different kind of physical.

I know how many of you feel about Jeff Goodman
He publishes his top 25 every week
The newest one has 4 BE teams on his list

7 - Villanova
9 - Butler
19 - DePaul
24 - Creighton

He also has West Virginia at 16 and Arizona is unranked
If we beat Butler, we should be knocking at the door at the very least!!
GO JOHNNIES!! Let's finish 2019 with a big bang!!!
Concussion risk from heading in soccer starting to be identified.
And, in today's world, these soccer leagues start as early as age 3
Very scary!!!
Maybe kids need to wear helmets to cushion the blow when they head the ball

Two interesting Big East openers tonight. Xavier at Nova and Hall at DePaul. Like the home team in both of these, especially with Powell still out.

McClung has been a sleeper Recruit for Ewing . He will flourish without Akingo hogging the Ball or taking ill advised shots . Any team in the BE would have McClung in their lineup . Either as Starter or off the bench 3 point Assassin . He’s a force to be reckoned with in any game .

A decision will be made about Myles Powell's availability for tonight's game against DePaul after Seton Hall's walk through, per Kevin Willard. The Pirates are headed to walk through now

Monday, December 30th:

6:30 PM - Xavier at Villanova (78.2%) - FS1
8:30 PM - Seton Hall (52.9%) at DePaul - FS1
