Around the Big East 19/20

If Xavier as an underdog can beat TCU on the road an already great week for the Big East becomes a wow week.

By the way it’s Big East vs Big 12 not the Big 10. I thought another realignment happened while I was sleeping.:)

The Big East has 9 teams inside the Top 60 of the NET rankings - 9.

3-Butler
21-Nova
26-Creighton
35-Georgetown
36-Seton Hall
37-DePaul
50-St. John's
52-Marquette
56-Xavier

123-Providence

Per Jerry Carino

Half: Prairie View 27, Seton Hall 22.
Painful to watch SHU's offense. 7-23 FGs, 0-7 from 3, 11 turnovers. Looks like no one other than McKnight wants to shoot.
Myles Cale: 2 points on 1-4 FGs, 2 rebounds, 1 assist, 3 turnovers, 1 steal in 15 minutes.

Mike Zaun on alert :)

Kevin Willard on Powell: He's progressing, longshot for DePaul but hoping to have him back for Georgetown Jan. 3.

9 out of 10 BE Teams getting votes in AP poll. Joe Lunardi has 8 teams in the tourney and SJU on 2nd 4 out. That's incredibly impressive heading into conference play.
For any team besides PC, I would think 9-9 in conference play would be a lock for the tourney this year and have a good shot if they go 8-10 with a 1st round BE tourney win.

How can anyone argue that BE is not best conference in the country at this point? To counter my own argument, need some NCAA tourney wins :)

It looks like the deepest conference this year. It is not top heavy so I do not know if you can consider it the best.

I don’t think top heaviness makes it the best. It’s by far the most balanced top to bottom. The “top heavy” conferences are the ones who’s top teams are constantly paying players etc. the usual suspects. The OOC play is over and the Big East more than ever, proved its worth. It will be valuable at the end of the season when it comes to getting bids. We may not have the powerhouses just yet this year but the balance is there.

Correct. if you lined up the big east teams 3-9 vs the other major conferences 3-9 teams, the Big East is waaay better.
