Around the Big East 19/20

Ball moving so much better for Hoyas without Akinjo. Less talent (which means a lower ceiling) but clearly a better team than earlier in the season. I do think this Syracuse team as well as the SMU team they beat are both pretty mediocre but the Hoyas undoubtedly look better.

Agree with Dinkins that Syracuse is playing a very dumb game here. Gotta draw more fouls on them or make them run. Boheim seems content to let his two guards just jack up threes. Hughes looks great and in the 2nd half he's just been watching Buddy and Girard jack up shots.
They are a combined 8-18 from 3. Their problem is they have no guy to get them easy buckets inside or to beat up on the offensive glass.
Buddy Boeheim has scored all of his 17 points in the 2nd half. Much better shooting in the 2nd half. Agree with observation about nobody inside. This is a weak Cuse team. Boeheim may be running out of steam. If it wasn't for that out of nowhere Final Four run a few seasons ago they'd be pretty far off the map of relevancy...

Georgetown on their way to a win. Hughes must've left his game in the locker room after the half. It'll be interesting to see if Georgetown can continue their good play as we soon head into the conference slate. I'm one who believes their shooting will eventually come back to the mean.
Syracuse doesn’t have the speed or the athletes to push the tempo. They are tailor made to be beaten by a short handed team.
Boeheim is also reluctant to get outta that zone.

Hoyas have 3 more OOC games - UMBC, Sanford and American - should enter Big East play at 10-3.

Jim Boeheim says of Georgetown, "they got rid of a guy that didn't pass the ball and shot it every time."
Ouch!

Watching the Hall - Rutgers game on the Big Ten network. I can't find the Xavier - Wake game. Don't think I get the ACC network on my plan. Years ago when I worked in Piscataway we used to get a group of guys and go to one or two games a year at the RAC. Always a good time. Tough place to play as crowd is loud and right on top of you. Rutgers really looking sharp early.

Lets see, you live in NC right?
So you get the BIGTEN Net, but not the ACC? Something isn't right there.

LOL, does seem strange. I get one Big Ten station several PAC 12 stations and even an SEC station but no ACC. I've never really looked into why since I get more than enough hoops and the best ACC teams' games are usually on ESPN or regular channels anyway.

Rutgers up 26-7 BTW.

Rutgers up 26-5 over SH. Mike Zaun preparing a ten paragraph Hall rip tomorrow :)

Thanks RSNC! I hadn't tried going that far up the dial. I have it now. Funny, on my paper channel guide it lists 388 as alternate programming rather than ACC. Good to know going forward and this is a much closer game than Hall - Rutgers. My wife's in Jersey this weekend so I am in hoops heaven!

Hall down at half 36-23 with Rutgers, a solid defensive team, holding them to 28% shooting.

Per writer Jerry Carino
Gary Cohen tells me Myles Powell will not return in the 2nd half. Not sure why.

Oh boy
