Around the Big East 19/20
Our former coach LAVs just said that besides Georgetown & St. John's any of the other 8 teams are capable of threatening in the BE. Interesting.
He said yesterday at the half something to the fact of us not having the horses yet. I think he’s pretty pragmatic and knows where we are at, as do us fans. We are playing nearly as well as possible for the most part, given the talent we have. I said at the beginning of the season that we can be a spoiler-type team for the rest of the Big East. We might even make a hard run for middle pack or higher but we aren’t going to challenge for the tops of the Big East and I think he’s right.

We will know if we can surprise and challenge for the middle of the pack after Steere plays a couple of games.

I see us finishing between 7th and 9th. 7th and an NIT invite would be a great year imho.

An X-factor for sure. Lav’s still has coache’s eyes which none of us do have. Anderson has done miracles thus far with a lot of kids on this team. Wait til we really have some talent...
Depaul will show whether they are a pretender or it tonight. Interesting game.
I have watched DePaul a few times this year. They do not, at all, resemble DePaul. This is a solid team that will, again, give us a lot of trouble.

Charlie Moore is the real thing.

McClung having a big game for Hoyas who just tied OK State 55-55 with 10 minutes left.

McClung coming through big tonight for the Hoyas. Yurtseven is also playing fairly well. Oklahoma State really misses their best player, Isaac Likekele, tonight. He has the flu.
Nice statement being made by the Hoyas tonight.

Happy for Ewing
G'town look like they're about to come away with a big win. I'm not sure they can do this the remainder of the season, but they didn't miss neither Akinjo and LeBlanc tonight. Maybe, they'll have better chemistry.

Georgetown's looked great this year, as long as they aren't playing games in Washington, DC. That city appears to be a big problem for them.

I think they'll be a up-and-down, but tonight was a good win for 'em.

In the post game interview (before leaving the court), Ewing said (paraphrased), "We need to be about "we," instead of "me." Sounded like a shot at Akinjo.

Wow...DePaul / TEx Tech to OT. DePaul saved themselves in last minute of reg.

Fun game and like watching DePaul this year.

Hope they pull out the W

Moore had a horrid shooting night but his assists, once again, saved the day.
That was an amazing game...every possession was a defensive war the entire way. Texas Tech had the game in hand but DePaul made some great saving shots. I fun game to watch.
Big East looked good today overall.

Georgetown is the only team I think we can finish above this season after their recent departures. They just beat a great OK State team on the road...

It's gonna be a loooooooonnnnnggggg season folks...

You have to love what’s going on down there in Chicago.

DePaul has been bad for so long. Just happy for them and any long suffering fans of the program

A "great" Oklahoma State team? Really? I'll say a "good" Oklahoma State team, but that's about it.

Once again, it's still quite early in the season and things can change (one way or another) once conference play starts. It may be a looooonnnngggg season for us, but we really don't know that as of yet. Not to mention, we have a piece of the puzzle that has yet to suit up.

It will be a tough season but we are much improved.
It took DePaul several years of good recruiting to get to the level where they seem credible. Now that we have professional coaching and aggressive recruiting, I am finally hopeful that we have a future.
We are starting our rise this year. We will need some patience but in 2 or 3 years, we will be competitive with the better teams again.

They were undefeated and ranked top 25 on Kenpom before losing at home to Gtown. I think we are going to struggle mightily in conference play because of our lack of competent offensive guards. Size means nothing in amateur ball if your backcourt can't get you the ball. I hope I am wrong but time and time again great guard play has trumped everything, all else being equal.
