Around College Basketball

Rutgers lost by 18 at Oregon. They are now 12-14 overall. At this point, they may not even qualify for the NIT.

Gives me a smile, because of my strong dislike for that program.

The worst team money could buy.
One and done players and Steve Pikiell were never going to be a good mix. Pikiell is a lunch pail coach and a damn good one but this is just not his type of team.

You’re entitled, posting anything but abject dislike for almost anyone outside of the Johnnies universe is generally frowned on here so no surprise.
That’s not fair. We have more than enough abject dislike and self loathing inside of the “Johnnies universe”.

A good number here cannot even enjoy a win giving the team control of first place in the BE against a very good opponent without acting like they were blown out.

So true. Easy to say its natural for fans to be critical but I'd also say it's just as natural for fans to be supportive.

And makes one seriously question whether it $mart to inve$t in Freshmen… granted Harper has been hobbled…

I agree, each point of view a product of personality, half full, half empty, etc.
But I have yet to criticize a fan for being supportive, have had plenty of push back for being critical, which I know stems from playing and coaching, being very critical of myself as a player, constantly working on identifying and correcting mistakes.
Then personally viewing games critically as a coach almost became second nature as you try to do the same with your players and team.

Have posted before, played mucho amount of ball with and against Kevin Boyle, Monteverde coach, who was at St. Pat’s, which became the Patrick School before heading south to Florida.
NEVER saw a tougher competitor; really way beyond tough, physically and mentally, backed down from absolutely no one. At 5’8”, he would match with any big if he thought he was the best option. Not a great player to look at or evaluate, but a great player once the game started. Totally respected, not necessarily well liked and genuinely didn’t give a $hit; if he was playing, and later coaching, if he was there, he was there to win, period.
