Around College Basketball

Last year after the tourney loss Bill Self admitted he had basically phoned it in and had been focusing more on next year the last few weeks of the season. Wonder if that's happening again now.

The past few years there has always been at least one surprise retirement during the offseason. Could it be Bill Self this year? Health issues that kept him from coaching in the tourney two years ago and now potentially two years in a row of going into March hating his team. Now that paying players is legal he doesn't have the competitive advantage he used to have when he was one of the more blatant under the table bagmen in the country.

KU looks horrible.
Committee is really going to have some difficult decisions if they are going to suck up to the so called “blue” bloods. North Carolina point blank doesn’t belong. Kansas is falling faster than an asteroid falling toward earth. They are always talking about how a team is playing down the stretch. Kansas just got evicerated…again.

I wonder if Texas Tech gets the St. John's treatment from voters. Went on road and lost a close game to an unranked opponent in its first game of the week. But unlike us, I don't think their weekend game offers enough redemption. Let's see if they drop.
