Around College Basketball

The tournament has been devalued for years. Check out this year's top 16. Only one has no major college football...us. There's a propensity to overvalue wins against football schools, leaving Big East and Atlantic 10 teams on the outside looking in.
At this point of the year, the only non football team deserving of being in the sixteen is in it. If Marquette hadn’t gone into their tailspin, then maybe two. There is no one else in the two leagues you mention deserving of it.

Watched the Auburn/Bama game, if we have to play Auburn, it won’t be pretty. Physical, 10 deep and can shoot.

Reading article on Boeheim/Autry that SEC NIL is $6MM minimum, tells you all you need to know. Huge advantage.

Watched the Kansas/Utah game last night. Kansas looked aweful. Saw North Carolina a couple of times this week. Aweful. Yukon don’t look good. Here’s the thing. If you replaced the name on the front of those jerseys with almost any other team they wouldn’t even be noticed.

North Carolina listed as a “bubble team” is just trying to build them up to save the ratings for ESPN and the final regular season game with Duke. They will get destroyed again but it’s as close to a fix as legally allowed.

Rutgers lost by 18 at Oregon. They are now 12-14 overall. At this point, they may not even qualify for the NIT.

Gives me a smile, because of my strong dislike for that program.

The worst team money could buy.
This is Pikiell's 9th year. He's got a .535 % record and .400% in conference. 2 NCAA trips..Last in '22. Contract technically runs through '29-'30.

Player on Vanderbilt’s woman’s team hit her first 23 foul shots before missing her last one a meaningless one at the end of OT with victory secured and she finished with 54 or 55 points.

If the powers that be had it their way, the NCAA tournament (as we know it) would morph into a P2 challenge.

It's all about the "SEC, SEC, SEC." ESPIN and their talking heads push the narrative. The dopey masses (mainly casual fans) eat it up.

Been that way in football forever, and will continue to be that way. Now you are seeing it in hoops. Look at how they jobbed the Big East last season, only for the us to absolutely dominate the tournament, while their beloved football schools got slapped down.

You better believe they hated it. Watch them stack the brackets to their advantage.

Can't stand that conference.

Down year for Gonzaga or they absolutely would have been in it.

They are severely overrated. Outside of their win against Baylor, who did they beat?

Speaking of money. I’ve bet Rutgers and won few times first half. So I had them first half spread and money line here. They were winning first half 90% of the half. Gave up lead late in half. And spread was 4.5. Oregon hits a basket as half ended. Down 5. Lose lose for me.
