Nate Oats on Coach K wanting to delay play due to COVID-19: “Let me ask you a question. Do you think Coach K would be saying that if he hadn’t lost those two non-conference games at home?”[/quote]

Wow, I know that was the first thing several people thought when they say his quote, I know some columnist (I forgot where I saw it) who thought the reason K said what he said was because of losing those two games was a ridiculous thought (he didn't bring it up, Coach K was only responding to a question regarding what Jeff Capel said), but to actually see a coach go on record with it. wow. Kudos for saying what many thought..

Coach K has taken it even farther.

This is just embarrassing for Coach K, outside of the hardcore Duke fans, everybody sees what's going on here. He doesn't have a homecourt advantage now since they aren't allowed to have a fans in the arena, and it's resulted in 2 home losses for him. Now he's cancelling the remainder of the non-conference games and claiming it's all for the "players' and he's questioning if there should even be a season with the pandemic going on, when he's already been on record of supporting to play this season and saying there can't be 2 years in a row without an NCAA tournament.

What's even more funny about this is he saying it's best for the players to travel home and be with their families during the pandemic, that's why he just had to cancel the remaining non-conference games, when literally the CDC has recommended that people DON'T travel home for the holidays because it leads to more spread. So, does Coach K really care about the kids and their families and he's concerned about them not being together or does he care about his record?

Making Plays, an excellent, well thought out assessment of this situation. So good, I copied and pasted it, and gave you credit for it, on another social media site. I didn't provide your screen name out of confidentiality. Hope you're Ok with this. If not, I'll remove that post. But this was sooo darn good!

John C. must go. Lol.

Obviously, they recovered from that, since we beat them in the Sweet 16.

Both Cal and Coack K are getting exposed. Their teams are both stacked with 4 and 5 star players and future first round picks, and they are struggling against teams with inferior talent without their crowds.

And I don't think people realize how big of an advantage they have with their arenas essentially packed out every single game, it's an intimidating environment for opposing teams, especially at Duke where the crowd is sitting almost right on top of the players, their crowd is easily worth 10 points. And with Duke and Kentucky their crowds travel, so even when are on neutral court games in a typical year they still have the overwhelming crowd advantage. Then another factor people don't consider, the crowd affects the way the game is being called by the refs as well. I don't care what anyone says, when you have 10-20k people yelling and booing at you on every single call against the home team, those 50/50 calls start indirectly favoring the home team, we see those type of calls that affect the game go in favor of bluebloods every single year.

After this, I do have a little more respect for Cal than Coach K, Cal is just makes excuses about his team being so young (even though he has 3 projected first round picks on his team), but at least they play, Coack K basically took his ball and went home after he lost 2 games and he doesn't even want to play anymore.
