He doesn't have any surgeries scheduled so that he can skip out on what he thinks will be a bad year and let an assistant eat the damage, so I guess the COVID excuse will have to do.[/quote]
Covid caused grecian formula shortage infuriated Coach K

Fran Fraschilla

I love this game, I know these young people are making an incredible sacrifice but they do want to play. But given extent of the virus right now, I’d send everyone home for Xmas break, quarantine them for 10 days & pick it back up in mid January. This is huge mental health issue.

As much as I hate it, actually not a bad idea.

Sending home and quarantining would add to mental health issues I think.

The season would have been paused and resumed a couple months from now if Pitino wasn't a cheater having sex on tables. The NCAA no longer listens to him like they used to.

It's inevitable. As we began to spike, the country was frustrated with quarantining and we did not do enough to keep the virus at bay.

Next month is going to be rough and sober everyone into doing the right thing. We will then flatten the curve again and the vaccine will follow.

Look for a significant pause and then a reopening of the season that results in a late NCAA tournament. It stinks, but it is inevitable.

I don’t pretend to know the right answer but Pitino and especially K wield tremendous power over their programs and schools. You don’t want to play, don’t play and NO ONE could blame or criticize you. Making the post game about Covid is typical K, deflecting a whupping at home.

In many ways, I agree with Fraschilla, but I definitely agree with you re: adding to mental health issues. I've heard enough tales to know the virus and quarantining are adding to it.

That's what I said once I read the article.... Coach K is conveniently using Covid as an excuse and deflection for getting his butt spanked.

It's true. I don't think this is an easy decision. Personally, I think it was right to start the semester and the season; and get in as many games as possible. However, right now, the prevalence of folks contracting the virus may warrant a pause.

The D1 Council will vote on Dec. 16 on whether to allow immediate eligibility for all college basketball transfers this season,

I've been watching the Boise State/BYU game on BYU TV. It's been fairly decent game. Boise State has led all the way, as they're up 61-53 with 6 minutes remaining in regulation.

People, we gotta work on our defense.

Agreed. Now pay me for FF. ;)

Talented family obviously;

Justin Champagnie of Pitt had 20 points & 20 rebounds in win over Northwestern tonight. Had game winning dunk.

D is definitely spearheading the recent boost of the Boise St. program. I don't remember them doing squat before several years ago. If they can do it, a team with better players sure as hell should be able to.

He's going to look awesome in red. I'll deliver the bag if someone wants to head up the collection process.

Now officially a Nate Oats fan;

Nate Oats on Coach K wanting to delay play due to COVID-19: “Let me ask you a question. Do you think Coach K would be saying that if he hadn’t lost those two non-conference games at home?”

Amen. That was the first thought that came to mind when Rat face delivered his proclamation. If this was a typical Duke team, he’d be as quiet as a church mouse.
