Sorry MainMan, it's not even mediocre. :)
It's most often poor. I just looked up their in conferenc record since 2013.

They are a combined 27-58 in conference, and have had only a single season with an above .500 record.
They stink.

Boston College is often in the same boat.

As I said in the summer when they beat McGill by 16 there is no reason for SJU to lose to FSU.
None whatsoever.

Might be turning it around a bit. They have a winning record this year and lost this weekend to No. 9 Clemson my six. It could be an aberration but with the new coach, they might be onto something.

While some of their older fans and their coach are missing the BE, neither they, BC or the other BE defectors who went to the ACC are missing the BE.

I looked at the Box Score and was expecting to see a couple of one and dones on the Texas team that had big games but almost the entire team were transfers this year or last. It's amazing.

Nah, the AP Poll in November is nothing but a popularity contest. Unless your already receiving votes in the AP poll it's hard to get ranked early in the season without actually beating a ranked team or 2. That's why the NET doesn't come out until mid December, because it's almost impossible to accurately rank and know how good 363 teams are with only a handful of games played.

The earliest I could see them getting ranked is if they are undefeated after that Florida State game. Although there would be no ranked wins in that, that would give them 3 neutral site wins, and 1 away win, with at least a couple of those wins against tournament caliber teams, very few teams will have that on their resume in mid December.
