Around College Basketball

The reckoning of the most recent college basketball cheating is what it always has been. Cheating pays off. The

Dear usguard sorry to burst your bubble but a vaccine is anything but so close. If by close you mean 6-12 months ok, I can accept that. But nothing is happening in the next few months.
Another thing to consider is that even once a vaccine is out, it's not like everyone will immediately be vaccinated. Nor does it appear enough doses will be available for everyone immediately. It's going to be a timely process to even get to that point. There are still many details we don't know about how the rollout will even occur.
Even if everyone could take it, I'd still wait. Want to see the affects it has on others before I take. Yeah, it might help against getting covid-19 but could it harm any part of the body?

Thanks. Let me know how it goes.

Confirming @JonRothstein report that Pat Chambers is stepping down as Penn State hoops coach, and also confirming @DaveJonesSports report that this follows an internal investigation into the coach. Brutal news for program, which would have finally made NCAA Tournament this year.

And Greg Marshall, Sean Miller and Will Wade are still employed

Andy Katz on the Chambers "resignation". A player transferred out because of a noose reference made by Chambers during a practice, which led to an internal investigation.

Jim Ferry, a Penn State assistant coach, will be the interim coach for the season. Former head coach at a few schools, including Adelphi, LIU and Duquesne.

Bolton told The Undefeated that he recalled Chambers saying, "I want to be a stress reliever for you. You can talk to me about anything. I need to get some of this pressure off you. I want to loosen the noose that's around your neck."

If my lip reading skills are up to snuff Miller seems to be yelling at a prospective recruit to "Take the fing money!".

The Chambers situation seems curious. I wonder what else turned up in the investigation? Especially for him to resign? While that noose comment may have been in poor judgement or absent-mindedly insensitive, it doesn't read as intentionally hateful or malicious to me (at least not in the reading of the text, haven't read the player's comments). It certainly wouldn't seem anywhere close to the nonsense Marshall has been pulling. I can't believe that guy hasn't been let go yet. How does Witchita State see this ending?

And yeah...if the NCAA wants to salvage any small part of their reputation as an organization that takes rules, discipline and fair play seriously then either Wade and Miller should be out of jobs or LSU & Arizona need to be given big boy punishments. If not now then why have the rules at this point? Just add a salary cap.

Being that it was Penn State of all schools I’m gonna think a quick action was needed

Chambers was previously suspended for 1 game for shoving a player during a time-out -

I remember this now. I'd forgotten.

Moose, why quick action because it's Penn State? I feel like I must be overlooking something obvious...

Edit: Oh my god. Nevermind. Yikes. Very obvious. I'm ashamed but I feel like I shouldn't edit this out. I leave this up as my punishment and because it's such an absurd oversight that I find it hilarious.

Per @Jucoadvocate

Multiple sources (I’ve always wanted to use that) are indicating that the NCAA will recognize the NJCAA waiver year. Significant in that a JUCO sophomore would come out with 3 to play, and a freshman qualifier would have 4 to play. Transfer credit details still in discussion

So Carlos Curry after playing this year would have 3 left in college he chooses
