Michigan State’s Tom Izzo has tested positive for COVID-19.
Tomorrow is the last day to test positive and not miss games. I hope I’m wrong but I don’t see this going well (if teams/conferences are following the NCAA recommendation).

Saw him interviewed on ESPN this morning. Said he has no idea how he contracted it because he has been so careful and aware. He's experiencing mild symptoms and I hope that's all he experiences. wish him a full and speedy recovery.

He averaged 5 assists a game.

Wichita State and Gregg Marshall are expected to part ways by the end of the week, sources told @Stadium.

Wow, I thought their big donors would have some pull in the opposite direction.

This might be the worst timing I've ever seen with regard to a coaching change. I guess they stay in-house unless there's currently a big name who is unemployed?

I think Marshall has gotten them to hot job status, but I think they were dormant for decades before he got there. I'm really interested to see how this breaks.

If Wichita State parts ways with Gregg Marshall soon as expected, Thad Matta will be at the top of the replacement list. I am hearing the school would like him to start right away and coach this season if they can pull it off. @TheAthleticCBB

I completely (and embarrassingly) forgot about Matta.

Definitely the home run they need.

I had heard as soon as they announced the investigation into Marshall several boosters had already reached out to Matta and he was interested. Evidently his health is much better. Hard to believe he is only 53.

He averaged 5 assists a game.
. Yes , he did and also 12 shots a game . Split about evenly between 2 pt and 3 pt shots . He also rebounds well . He’s a very good all around Player . One of the best in the BE. If you think he’s a typical PG , so be it .

Not trying to be difficult. But he led his team in assists. Yes he averaged 12 shots a game too. The ball is in his hands a lot. That's a point guard. Just because he scores a lot doesnt mean he isnt a distributor.

The big east looks like it will be its usual well balanced competitive league but if Zegarowski is considered the best player isn’t that a drop off from recent years and indicate that the teams will not be as good as recent years?

It’s natural for him to handle the ball a lot . Ponds was our best Player all 3 seasons he played but, consensus was he wasn’t a Natural PG but , forced into that role by default . Howard on Marquette is a similar example . Was he a Classic PG ? He had the Ball a huge amount of time because he shot it a huge amount of time . I was just a little surprised at the Cousy list of PG’s to include Zagarowski . I just had the image of him being a Shooter more than playmaker . In fact , I had not realized he averaged 5 Assists per game , until you correctly pointed it out . Let’s see what role he plays this year for the Jays .

That classic description is pretty rare these days. Especially amongst the best teams. It's GUARDS and FORWARDS and maybe some CENTERS as we know from the lack of true big men SJU has had.

Even Posh will be like that to us.
