Around College Basketball (non-Big East) 2018/19
Per Dave Borges re Sid Wilson, who had 12 points in 23 minutes in win over ECU today.

Hurley on Sid: “He wasn’t happy with his minutes and his role, the last couple of games in particular. His approach was not to mope and be a baby the last couple of days. His approach was to practice hard, have a great attitude, do extra work with Coach Young after practice
So we can infer he's been moping and being a baby all season until this point? Sounds like a real stand up kid.

Seems so and it will be interesting to see if he buys into Hurley mantra long term re practicing and playing hard. If not, he’ll lose minutes justifiably.

No Big East games tonight but a very good ACC contest at 7 on ESPN between two ranked teams. Louisville (#15) at Virginia Tech (#12).
Wilson is a cancer. To already have that much evidence as a freshman is alarming.
I know lots of cancer survivors who when they heal live with an attitude of gratitude.

I never said it was strong just that it wasn't as weak as many have posted.
Saying it wasn't as weak is admitting that it's still weak. No doubt the conference schedule offers opportunity for quality wins, always does.

The debate was always about the non-conference schedule not the conference one. Obviously one you control the other you don't.

Of course Duke waited 1 more game against BC to stop making automatic shots. They look horrendous. BC also getting super lucky getting clanked 3's directly rebounded into their hands.

1/15 from 3 6.7%...down by 2 to BC at half.

1-15 from 3.

Was hoping that was the kinda game they’d have against us, but, no

Sounds like Matt Mclung of Georgetown against us. He was just super and the following game came crashing down to earth. Why can’t people have off nights against us. SMH.

Markus Howard does. He's never scored 20 against us.

After losing 47-24 on Saturday, NC State upped their offensive production by 72 points tonight, but they still lost, as UNC waxed them, 113-96.

BC had the same advantage tonight that we had against Duke last year.
Duke's next game is at Virginia. Last year, their next game after us was at North Carolina.

Even tonight, it no doubt helped early on that Marquette's next game is against Villanova.

I think what both Mike Zaun and I were trying to say, though MZ is very capable of speaking on his own, is that Duke and Georgetown ( McLung ) had phenomenal shooting games against us, remember we are number 1 in the BE at defending the 3, which in each case led to our loss. The game after Duke and Georgetown played us Duke and McLung's shooting dropped off terribly. Too bad it didn't occur against SJU, we would be 19-4 instead of 17-6 ( I believe ).
I don't believe Howard had an off night against us, Coach's strategy was to put our best defender on Howard and let everyone else hurt us if they could, which strategy worked out both times this season, exactly like Duke's strategy with Ponds. We made Howard have 2 off nights.

MZ, if I misinterpreted what you wrote please feel free to correct me.
