Around College Basketball (non-Big East) 2018/19

Caught some of UConn's loss to UCF tonight. From what I saw (and from other games too), Sidney Wilson looks awful. Fouled out after scoring 2 points (on 1-3 shooting) and grabbing 1 rebound in 14 minutes; and his line for the season is 3 ppg on .286 shooting (.167 from beyond the arc). And to think how upset so many of us were when he bailed out on us.
When will he transfer to St John's? :cheer:
Wilson and Yakwe are terrible. I will never forget Wilson frowning while putting on his SJ hat after committing and UConn fans jumping on it making a joke about it. Well, who's laughing now UConn? I don't want the kid...he's insanely raw and he is easily influenced. Rysheed Jordan with way less talent but similar baggage.

28% FG
15% 3PT
52% FT
Shows you how unimportant high school "star" ratings
Both Yakwe and Wilson were 4 star players when they were being recruited
Neither have played anywhere close to that potential in college
Forget the Duke game and just hope we keep it close, maybe very close, but what if we run the table a bit and go 8-1 rest of the BEC season, win 2 in the BET and face Selection Sunday, 26-8.
Play with this.
What seed would we be?
A 6 maybe?
Sorry, this is just terrible advice. First, it's the game that our players, staff, and fans circled since day 1. That alone makes it a dangerous game for Duke. We also beat them last year and beat them or play very close every year we are good since 98-99.

This St. John's team can beat anyone or lose to anyone inside the top 200 any given day.

WOW! He's going into the draft, I would guess.

The NCAA rules against Kansas and at a time when Kansas really needed this player. This is shocking.

NCAA must have caught Cleveland St. in some major violations.

So about that "weak" schedule?

Princeton wins by 12 at Columbia without its best player to win 6th in a row, BG wins 11th in 12 games by beating #18 Buffalo, and we play #2 Duke in Cameron in 12.5 hours.

On KenPom:

@Duke - 2
@Rutgers - 88
N Ga Tech - 81
N VCU - 53
BG - 97
Princeton - 160

Game was in Raleigh, too.
Stop fooling. Got to be a halftime score right? Or was the shot clock broken and someone went 4 corners?

Somehow, that score is real. And thank god it is cause twitter is talking all about it and our 30 point trouncing is getting somewhat ignored

Here's the boxscore:

Hofstra down 11 at Northeastern, at the Under 8 media TO of the second half.

Nation's longest active winning streak is in serious jeopardy.

Game is on MSG.

That's quite an impressive lineup there. LOL

Third worst schedule in the BE. Dukie V wouldn't stop talking about it either, made him even more annoying.

That sounds worse than our game against Miami when it was 14-12 at halftime.

Per Dave Borges re Sid Wilson, who had 12 points in 23 minutes in win over ECU today.

Hurley on Sid: “He wasn’t happy with his minutes and his role, the last couple of games in particular. His approach was not to mope and be a baby the last couple of days. His approach was to practice hard, have a great attitude, do extra work with Coach Young after practice

I never said it was strong just that it wasn't as weak as many have posted.

We currently have two Q1 games, two Q2 games and two Q3 games from the OOC. That's pretty solid.

Don't forget that the win @ Creighton was Q1 as well as Marquette at home. The win @Gtown is very close as well. The losses @Butler, @ Nova, @SH are all Q1 plus the game in Marquette. We won't lack for Q1 opportunities.
