Around College Basketball (non-Big East) 2018/19

Owens with one of his best games TT with 17 points on 7-9 shooting. 2-2 from three along with 6 rebs. Had dunks, blocks and played inside and out. Davide Moretti is their Mussini with 11 points and 7 assists. He will have a long career in the Italian 1st Division.

We're missing a guy like Mussini who can come in, give some minutes and nail some 3's when everyone else is cold. Go in Indiana to recruit...they have plenty of guys it seems who may not be the most athletic but are pretty big and can shoot it lights out.

UVA at NC State on ESPN2 at 7 pm tonight. Will be interesting to see if State can make a game out of it.

NC State loses by 1 to UVA - had a chance to tie it down 3 with .9 seconds left when shooter got fouled on a three. Made first, missed second and accidentally hit the third!

So Clark has one foul before tip off tomorrow?

Michigan State’s Josh Langford is out for the rest of the season, per a release. Langford averaged 15 points a game
Per Evan Daniels

Caught some of UConn's loss to UCF tonight. From what I saw (and from other games too), Sidney Wilson looks awful. Fouled out after scoring 2 points (on 1-3 shooting) and grabbing 1 rebound in 14 minutes; and his line for the season is 3 ppg on .286 shooting (.167 from beyond the arc). And to think how upset so many of us were when he bailed out on us.

When will he transfer to St John's? :cheer:

Wilson and Yakwe are terrible. I will never forget Wilson frowning while putting on his SJ hat after committing and UConn fans jumping on it making a joke about it. Well, who's laughing now UConn? I don't want the kid...he's insanely raw and he is easily influenced. Rysheed Jordan with way less talent but similar baggage.

Interesting, I don't remember him frowning (I'll need to look that up again). I watched the video a couple years ago live but didn't catch that... maybe others noticed and just didn't want to start drama on Redmen? Lol, I guess the signs were always there.

Anyways, it is a really good thing he's not playing for St. John's. If he was, people would use his mediocre development to negatively recruit against us.

I remember noticing immediately but I didn't say anything since I was happy to get the commitment. This kid looks like he just started playing basketball and he was a top 150 recruit. Let his attitude and poor skill infect UConn further. At least Yakwe was and still is a good kid, just not very good at basketball after a promising rookie campaign. Wilson is the antithesis of a Nova player. Extremely raw, no skill, and lots of disciplinary issues.

Lunardi and Palm have their new brackets out today.

Lunardi didn't move us up any. We're still his last "bye" team, and he has us playing Iowa in Des Moines first round (which would, obviously be a huge disadvantage, but would really hurt Kansas, if they faced Iowa in Round 2).

Palm, who's been far friendlier to us then most others, moved us from a 9 seed, to an 8 seed. That's not much of a difference, but look who he has us playing in Round 1. Needless to say, the hype machine around here would go into overdrive, if this were ever to happen.

Iowa would be a bad match up for us in addition to basically playing a home game. They have few really skilled big men who can play inside and out and rebound really well also, Garza, Cook and Kreiner. But, let's get to that point first. Still not sold on the fact that we will. Hopefully, we can build of the Creighton performance.

I figured the savior Danny Hurley would have been able to coach him up. At least from what I've been told, he can do no wrong. Things not going so smoothly so far in Storrs.

Wouldn't be surprised if they forced Wilson out. I still think Hurley will have them back in the tourney next year. Simply too good a coach. Obviously I hope they continue sucking though.

Forget the Duke game and just hope we keep it close, maybe very close, but what if we run the table a bit and go 8-1 rest of the BEC season, win 2 in the BET and face Selection Sunday, 26-8.
Play with this.
What seed would we be?
A 6 maybe?
