“correct its St Jean no Mullin this weekend I believe”
So where is Mullin is there another recruiting event ?
In Atlanta, but it appears Mullin is not out there at all. Puzzling
Wow I'm stunned
This can't end soon enough.

Yeah, don’t understand. Bill Self, Tom Izzo are out there and CM is not. Mystifying.

Zach should try to step up his reporting and ask some straight forward questions to Mullin in a Q&A format.

I am still a Mullin fan and I hope the current appearance of disengagement does not represent reality. That said, if he is not all in, the best thing he can do for St. John's is step down.
I am not a "Mullin hater" by any means, but how on earth is he not out there for the second straight weekend?

Tom Izzo and Bill Self feel the need to be there, but not our head coach who hasn't cracked the .500 barrier yet?

It literally boggles the mind. If we are going to be outworked with every other disadvantage we already have, we have no chance of success. None.
If I didn't know better, I'd say he's acting like a guy planning to step down.

We're not that lucky

Chris is face of program and missing two weeks of open period is puzzling to be kind. With Gaffney, Kofi & a few others on our shopping list, why not make the effort? You don’t wrap kids up in April, but for a program struggling for relevance, why not be there to show kids & respective programs your interest. Cal,K, Self etc do, so why not Chris? At the very least imo this is case of bad optics. Matt is not the heart of SJU hoops. Mullin is. At least I thought so.

I don’t understand. Do we have an accurate ‘take’ on what’s going on? This ‘behavior’ is a 180 from how I thought CM would tackle the HC job at St. John’s.

Let’s be real, this is Greg St Jean team and we’re paying 2 million plus a year for the “Mullin” name brand.

It’s like when Diddy and Ciroc was starting. People felt like ciroc was a good drink but it wasn’t that known in America. All of a sudden, Diddy has it in all of his promos, shows, etc and BAM!!
Ciroc is now a name brand drink.

Greg St. Jean is learning about recruiting ( Jordan Brown and these Summits), he’s already calling most of the plays. This is the St. John’s version of the “process”.

The only reason Mullin hasn’t officially checked out is because it will be tough to convince SJU trustees, Board of advisors, the NY and Long Island media and these young recruits that a high major program is being runned by a 29 year old.

So In conclusion, our “coach” did show up to the events.

Even if we don't have a legit shot at most of these kids, a legit program still needs to be there to build the brand exposure and make longer term connections with the AAU programs.

How Mullin gets away with now showing two weekends in a row is a joke..

add this to head scratcher that no one can confirm what Richmond's status is, or when the last time he was even on campus doing anything team related is crazy.

I’m stunned CM has not been to the past two weekends of signature April recruiting events to cultivate AAU connections, to show enthusiasm for our key recruiting targets, and the game itself.
I thought we were clawing our way back to relevance and to revive the St. John’s tradition of winning and championships in men’s college basketball.
I thought that we were proud of our tradition and hungry to recapture that success.
And I thought CM wanted that more than we did.
I hope that I wasn’t wrong.

It's so bizarre, that I have to wonder if something is wrong. Hopefully, Chris and his family are healthy, and that nothing serious is demanding his attention.

I say this because I would think every high DI coach has the April live periods in their calendar months in advance. Staffs likely sit down and agree upon a "divide and conquer" approach in order to have a presence at multiple events. For CM to just completely opt out of this period would represent a problem with his commitment or his perception of what it takes to build a winner in this conference.

As RedStormNC suggested, our NY college basketball reporters need to ask Coach Mullin some very pointed questions. Given that this was the last major recruiting weekend until July, it is hard to understand why he wasn't there. Maybe there is a good explanation, but on its surface it reeks of disengagement. I am a huge Mullin supporter, but this troubles me a lot. We should be pulling out all stops with our key 2019 recruiting class and it sure doesn't look like we are.

Great, fitting, and very sad ‘picture’. Thanks Mike.

We don’t need Isaiah, we’re guaranteed to get Kofi and Aidan. Let those other big time and very successful coaches show how craven they are. We’re above that. We are St. John’s.

I told y'all a year or so ago that he was lethargic. But, I was met by a two or three fans who couldn't stand to hear such and wanted to deflect with Lavin "foolishness."

One thing about me is I don't report on such things without my ducks in a row. Anyone think we're going places long-term with this staff are fooling yourselves. Any positive returns on the court will be short-lived (no sustainability).

If folks wanna continue to keep their heads in the sand, then do so. If folks wanna continue to call out others who truly know what's going on to satisfy their own personal insecurities or issues, then do so. It won't change the fact that this staff (mainly, outside of one) isn't carrying their weight and it's gonna bite us in the ass in the long run.
