This whole Mike rice talk is ridiculous at this point. I keep on hearing you guys say he’s “ rebuilding his image”; That’s nice and all but that doesn’t change the fact he threw balls at these kids heads and acted like an emotional wreck. It’s easy to say give somebody a second chance until you have to put your kids in that boat.

A lot ( definitely not all) of these kids come from situations in which the mother is the bread winner/head of the household, so you don’t have to convince some older Caucasian male that Mike rice is cool or rehabilated, you have to now convince black mothers that this white male isn’t going to harass or bother my son in college.

Now, before you guys say will that matter? Trust me, Lavall Jordan, Patrick Ewing and Ed Cooley will definitely push that narrative. Hell, I would do the same thing and I’m not even a coach.

Remember while Mike Rice has developed some good AAU connections in the northeast area. We have to expand nationally since kids want to “Experience the world”.
Black mothers have already allowed their kids to play for Mike Rice with Team Rio. The players and their families speak highly of him. The man had anger issues, they were exposed, and he received treatment for them. I had issues of my own, before got involved in AAU basketball and I turned a negative into a positive. I was up front about my past with parents and they respected me for it.

In regards to negative recruiting, if Patrick Ewing or any coach came into my home and talked bad about another school, I would immediately ask him to leave. Parents want to hear what you can do for their child, not what is wrong with another program.

From Mike Rice's involvement with Team Rio and Hoop Group, he has many national connections. This is not even counting the time he spent as an Assistant and Head Coach in College.
Well said. I remember meeting you in Orlando, a real nice classy gentleman.

Thank you very much, I enjoyed our conversation. Thinking about the stories we shared still causes me to smile. Hope to catch up with you at a game again.

Thank you fordham96 for posting the info. My son was asked to play in Washington DC next weekend in the Adidas Gauntlet but unfortunately will not be able to play as a result of a school trip. Hopefully there will be other Gauntlets he can play in.

Apologies if it was already posted, but it looks like Memphis cancelled their in-home with Antoine and Lewis. He was on campus landing commitments from a top 100 SG and a 6'10" JUCO that averaged 13pts and 6rbs.

I don’t know if this was posted
Washington Post writes Patrick Ewing has garnered recruit James Akinjo and
Transfer Omer Yurtseven
Dear Coach Mullin,
Let’s finally get another recruiter and match our GTown foe!
That's an inaccurate tweet from Zags, but that won't stop him from retweeting it 12 times.
I share the sentiment about Zags. However, give or take a few hours, I think it is true.

Unture. Yurtseven is a sit-out transfer, unless the transfer rules change. So he is not, at least currently, a player for 2018. In related news, I'm wasting my entire life.

Thanks. Will ‘somebody’ attend? Mullin or GSJ? Notice, I’m a realist these days and didn’t mention, Mitch!

Interesting article in Charlotte Observer on why Yurtseven transferred to Georgetown. Wouldn't be surprised to see him stay and play one year there after sitting out based on this article. Hope I did the link correctly.
You did it correctly NC you're a mench. If Yurt follows through by sitting a year and playing one of the two years he has left eligibility wise it would still mean going to the NBA draft 3 years after testing the waters by declaring last year and withdrawing. Maybe hope for Ponds to stay two more years.

Opening up second live period @UAassociation with West Coast Elite (Josh Green, Nico Mannion) vs. @teamrionational (Scottie Lewis, Bryan Antoine, Aidan Igiehon).

Per Borzello

Dan Hurley, St. John’s, Florida State among those that watched five-star Precious Achiuwa tonight.

@courtcred
Precious Achiuwa has steadily shown improvement over the yrs. been working toward becoming a full time SF, at the college level he will benefit from lining up at the 4 spot where he can out quick players. Athletic & mobile, he's become a powerful straight line driver to the cup.
