April Live Recruiting Periods
Let’s be real, this is Greg St Jean team and we’re paying 2 million plus a year for the “Mullin” name brand.

It’s like when Diddy and Ciroc was starting. People felt like ciroc was a good drink but it wasn’t that known in America. All of a sudden, Diddy has it in all of his promos, shows, etc and BAM!!
Ciroc is now a name brand drink.

Greg St. Jean is learning about recruiting ( Jordan Brown and these Summits), he’s already calling most of the plays. This is the St. John’s version of the “process”.

The only reason Mullin hasn’t officially checked out is because it will be tough to convince SJU trustees, Board of advisors, the NY and Long Island media and these young recruits that a high major program is being runned by a 29 year old.

So In conclusion, our “coach” did show up to the events.
Quite some take on the situation!
It's like staying at a Trump hotel but Trump just leases his brand name.
Unfortunately, you may not be that far off base. Mullin and Richmond never planned to make this gig a long term relationship. Mullin as much as said so when he envisioned turning the program around and "handing it off" to a successor. It sometimes appears that GSJ has yet to hand it off to Mullin. I will leave it to the positive "spin" group here to explain what is "really" going on. It is perplexing that they who see us going in a postive direction can't contribute some opinions in this case. I personally think that regardless of who is minding the store that Mullin will voluntarily step down next year if he fails to sign the top targets and miss the dance. This job was not a job for novices.
I told y'all a year or so ago that he was lethargic. But, I was met by a two or three fans who couldn't stand to hear such and wanted to deflect with Lavin "foolishness."

One thing about me is I don't report on such things without my ducks in a row. Anyone think we're going places long-term with this staff are fooling yourselves. Any positive returns on the court will be short-lived (no sustainability).

If folks wanna continue to keep their heads in the sand, then do so. If folks wanna continue to call out others who truly know what's going on to satisfy their own personal insecurities or issues, then do so. It won't change the fact that this staff (mainly, outside of one) isn't carrying their weight and it's gonna bite us in the ass in the long run.
I don't think Mullin is lethargic. He was one of the hardest working players in history.
I think he underestimated the amount of time he would need to spend in the weeds. He, Mitch and their families are, for all intents and purposes, Californians. Mullin's venture into settling in the NY suburbs lasted as long as his relationship with Slice. I'm not sure but a while ago all the Cali cartel boys were living alone in bachelor pads in the city except Matt. They are NOT setting up roots in New York. I think Greg St Jean truly loves coaching the game of basketball. I cannot say the same for Mullin and Richmond. Combine all the other issues with the program direction with the fact their families refused to settle in New York, I think that the writing may be on the wall. In those cold winter New York days I too sometimes dream of California.
Even if we don't have a legit shot at most of these kids, a legit program still needs to be there to build the brand exposure and make longer term connections with the AAU programs.

How Mullin gets away with now showing two weekends in a row is a joke..

add this to head scratcher that no one can confirm what Richmond's status is, or when the last time he was even on campus doing anything team related is crazy.
Maybe Mullin and Richmond got notes from their doctors that they are highly allergic to recruiting.

We should be pulling out all stops with our key 2019 recruiting class and it sure doesn't look like we are.
Don´t worry. There will be many available transfers from other schools in March/April.
