I don't want to put too much pressure on the kid. As long as he's the next Bryant Reeves I'll be happy.

Wasn't Reeves "Big Country"? Maybe ADR can be "Big City"?

I went to the game yesterday and, while I would have liked to have seen them destroy a D-2 team, I know this is just their first pre-season game and I do think there were positives that can be built upon.
Positives:
-Obekpa's play on both ends of the court and in transition
-Team free throw shooting
-Sir Dom's taking the ball to the basket in half court set and mid range jump shot-I feel he
can be really be good in the half court offense if he doesn't get to far from the hoop and only needs
one dribble to power to a shot at the rim
-Jones' backside help to block a shot and ability to be part of the offense
-Rysheed's second-half play
-D'lo's ability to score in a variety of ways and his work on the boards
Negatives:
-Amar's looking at loose balls instead of running to them
-On the ball defense by all our guards-they were consistently able to beat us and blow by us on the dribble
-Reappearance of D'lo's tendency to get to into it with the opposing players instead of just playing
the game which he became so good at last year
All in all, I was happy that the team won its first "game" and know that there is plenty of room for improvement.
I truly believe that they will improve and that the season will be a successful one.
I hope that more fans show-up for the next game to support the team in person.
Lastly, I wonder whether the coaches held back anything from this game they may want the team to do in the regular season so as to have the element of surprise in the regular season.
On ESPN3, they panned in on Adonis at the very end of the game. He looked like he wanted to murder someone. His lack of conditioning is on him. But I don't understand why he couldn't be put into an exhibition game for 60 seconds - if for no other reason than to be able to show him the tape afterwards for motivation purposes.

LOL!
He's no bigger than Josh Smith was heading into last year. Is he seriously unable to keep pace?
Maybe Lavin wanted to send ADR a message by sitting him.
What...another year of messages?
The good...Obekpa will merit all america consideration if he keeps it up. He looks as if he can!
The bad...Another year of bricklaying for Harrison. 8-20, 2-10 from three. Where's the improvement?
The ugly...Greene IV failing to score even one point against a Division II team. What do you expect he'll do against Minnesota?
Adonis hurt his ankle during the open practice and I saw him limping noticeably at the end of it. Perhaps he's still recovering from the injury.
