Adonis De La Rosa,

Walker's a nice ballplayer. Will be a good get for whichever school he decides on.

"You know, we've never had that go-to guy that you can just dump it down into the post to. He brings size, toughness, a presence and that NYC swag that I always look for."

It's so astonishing that this time last year we were praying to get Jordan, the final piece that would lead us to a sweet sixteen. Now, we are picking at the scraps of this recruiting class, to save us from getting out rebounded by 20 every night. so sad

We got outrebounded almost every game last year. Sampson decided it would be help the team better to take 500 threes a day instead of stepping foot into the weight room and working on playing his actual position.

Live and die with the back court and now we dont' have to watch 1/3 of the possesions start or end with oversized and underskilled players trying to create off the bounce instead of doing what is best for the team.

"He brings that New York toughness or physicality. He's been battle tested or in the trenches as I like to say. You add that to the comfortability or familiarity with growing up where he's now going to play college ball, and it's a winning or championship-caliber combination. The cherry on top is of course that New York presence or pizzazz or pep or panache which he brings to the table not only on the basketball court but in this journey I like to call...life."

This is a bs mischaracterization Marillac. How much better would our rebounding numbers have been if Sampson stayed closer to the basket? I don't know, but not much. It's not like he would've gotten 4 more offensive rebounds a game. He was still a top 10 rebounder in the conference.
And while I agree he tried to showcase himself, it's not as if he was chucking up 3s. He played a midrange game, which suits a forward actually.
If he was parked under the basket it would've just clogged lanes for Jordan and Harrison. The college and pro games are all about spreading the floor now. You know this.

Sampson wasn't a reason this team struggled. Could he have bulked up and rebounded better? Sure. But you've been going overboard ever since the season ended.

Watching the tournament and especially last night tells me that we couldn't have sniffed a sweet sixteen this year or next. Not with Adonis. Not with Superman

LOL@ panache

"He's got a palpable sense of when to run and when to jog back on defense. He's light on his toes. Has a sort of Sammy Davis, Jr to his game. It's rarity that's hard to find. The juxtaposition of size and balance. Between him and Joey, I envision an Olajuwon/Samson energy that they'll bring to Queens."
