2nd Rutgers Game

it seem like we play better on the road for some reason must bring the same intensity at home. best game played all year but the free throw shooting is horrible overall good game now lets get the following two and set up a big game with georgetown. sju for life

Love Jamal Branch's presence on the court. Fundamentally sound and so cool, calm, and (most of the times, at least) collected.

He's made a big, big difference, and will only get better.

Nice W. Sampson played great. DLO started hitting his shots the 2nd half, if he gets his groove back, we are going to be tough. Dom is the glue. He is getting his minutes and deserves them. Branch continued to look good. Greens minutes should be cut and Amirs increased. I think the minutes were 20 and 8 respectively. I dont under stand it. The game wasnt pretty, but a few weeks ago I didnt even think we were going to surpass last years BE win total, we looked bad. Now we are 4-3 in the BE and improving. We looked bad at the end of the game, fortunately we had a big enough lead and Rutgers also looked bad. Those TOs and missed fee throws will cost us.

Greene is a detriment.

I like Greene and thought that he would thrive off the ball...But, if he can't hit open shots at a high % then his minutes will continue to drop because he is not adding anything else...not even defense...

Garrett is already seeing his minutes drop because he just has not hit open shots when he is in game...

Sir Dom deservedly eating up Garrett's minutes.

Love the SNY broadcasts. Great pre and post game reports + game highlights. Got post game interviews with Lavin and Jakaar. Nice.

3rd observation. Dom does all the little things extremely well

He does...just needs to get a sense of when to dish on the break...he takes it too far and then tries to thread a needle...but, can't knock him, he is so high energy and is really making marked improvement...at the end of his senior year we will be talking about how much we enjoyed him and will miss him

Another important road win and when it comes against Rutgers it is all the sweeter. We hit our foul shots (who am I kidding) and it would have been a blowout.
Speaking of foul shooting.....whoever is the foul shooting coach should be fired and replaced by Ron Naclario on a consultant basis!
Karr was voted MVP by SNY but they must have confused him with Sir Dom.
Jamal Branch has arrived as our point guard and our all-Texas backcourt is starting to click. Still makes some knucklehead decisions but he seems like a very coachable young man and will only get better.
The Oscar for best supporting actor for faking an injury goes to Chris Obekpa who, shooting close to 0% from the FT line, gave the ball to Phil the 4th to miss for him.
The RAC looked half empty so the home crowd influence left SJ underwhelmed.
Nice to see Lavin recognize RU was going to hack us to death in the final minutes and realize Balamou was of more value than Obekpa.
I went to the fridge for a beer and must have missed Frenchie since the boxscore showed his usual turnover and meaningless 3 minutes.
4-3 in Big East!!!

Greene is a detriment.

He's missing wide open shots. He's gotta hit those babies.

Nevertheless, I like how we've fought back.

He's not a good deep shooter.

He shot it well the first few games, but has plummeted. Frankly, I would give some of his minutes to Balamou and Jones. Heck! You may can toss a few of his minutes to Bourgault, as well.

100% agree.

He shot well at the beginning of the season and I recall noticing that he was no longer falling away and had gotten away from that little hand manipulation thing he does when he is shooting...Since then he fell back into the same flawed form...

At least with Balamou we get some good man to man defense, some blocks and occasionally a drive to the basket.

Would have looked much prettier had we hit FTs

When Jakarr skied for a rebound late and had a putback all in one fell swoop, I thought to myself "looks like we lost another freshman to the NBA." The kid showed the full arsenal out there today.

As for Dom, is this kid the poor man's Michael Kidd-Gilchrist or what?

4-3 in Big East!!!

Felt badly for him...got in game...gave it away and was back on bench...i assumed during a line change...was that quick

This post is hilarious! I particularly enjoy the line about green missing for obekpa

Just got back from the game.

Kudos to the 50 or so students who made the trek to The RAC.

Also kudos to the fair number of NJ alums who came out for the game and cheered the team onto victory.

Great win today to get above the .500 mark in BE play on a rivals home court. Sampson with a monster game and Harrison hitting the shots when necessary. Another guy who got killed early on by some, Pointer, is really becoming the meat-and-potatoes guy I expected, I love his game.

The free throw shooting though, fellas. Jesus, you're killing me. 50 Free throws after those suicides, Coach!

That was the most pumped I was for a game all year, just didn`t want to get swept by RU. Kudos for kicking their ass.
Only negative was the FT`s missing 9-12 at one point before hitting their last 7 if I remember right.

Now a let down vs SHU? They aren`t good/ established enough to look past anyone, they look like they could be on their way but they aren`t there yet. These kids need to stay hungry and stay on a mission.
Say losing is over with and it`s time to show NY what we`re really about. Win the next 2 and it`s 4 straight, then remember that feeling against Geoegetown when they got smacked. If they get that game it`s 5 staight.

Don`t want to go to far ahead but winning gives confidence. You get used to winning then you want to keep it going. Yeah I know they`re young but that`s an excuse. Oh UK was talented right? Guess what? They were still very young.

MarkRedmen, you asked if they win would I reconsider going and I said yeah. Well I`m going to msg today and going to get tickets to the uconn game. Yeah it sounds that I only go when they win but with the way they were playing, hey I`m not sitting at MSG (which is our home game), watching us stink it up, and listening to the opponents fans chants and cheering and I`d be there all pissed and listening to them.
I refuse to spend $25 $30 for that.
I want to go to Syracuse on a 7 game winning streak. SHU and DePaul is winnable games. Payback is a bitch for G-Town and beat Yukon. 3 of our next 4 is at home.

STAY HUNGRY, STAY FOCUSED, AND BRING BACK ST. JOHN`S
