2nd Rutgers Game

Next 3 games are against Rutgers, Seton Hall and DePaul at home. We need 2 of 3 , better yet 3 of 3 to go 6-3 in the conference..

After that it gets tough with Syracuse,L'ville, G'TOWN AGAIN AND ND in S. Bend.

We do have USF, Providence left too..

If we're going anywhere this season, we need to win the next three games IMHO
They are all winnable - we've got to win them and sneak in an upset or two along the way

Guys there was similar talk after the Cincy win, and I'm all for getting excited about our potential, but we lost our next two- Rutgers and Georgetown. We are a young team, I think we are hitting a good stride, but a loss in ANY Big East game isn't out of the realm of possibilities.

Don't call me a downer lol, but every team in this league is tough and we aren't veteran/skilled enough (we have talent/potential) to go into any game assured of a win.

That said, Let's Go RedMen!

Brian trust me the only game I care about is the Rutgers game. Yeah we might not be good enough to expect a win in any game but I`ll come back to you and say, are they really that good enough that they should sweep us? HELLZ NO. I want this game in the worst way.

Must win???? Hardly.

Not to burst any bubbles, because a loss will pop many of the giddy bubbles around here anyway, but...

Odds are still about 10 to 1 against that we are anNCAA tournament team...

Must win? For an 11-7 team (3-3 team in conference)? Get over it. We'd have to put together a pretty incredible run over the next dozen regular season games to securae an at large bid. Something in the order of 8-4, plus 1-1 in BET to be on the bubble. Syracuse, ND, Louisville, Georgetown on the road almost for certain is 3 losses. We'd pretty much have to run the table in other games.

This isn't designed to be a downer. An inevitable loss or two in these ensuing winnable games is likely to bring a torrent of negative posts, not to mention if the losses are in succession. I'd almost rather get it over with (a loss), and resume enjoying the seaon as one where the bright spots continue to develop, the team continues to improve, and we can just focus on how far we can go next season.

Maybe its the Mets fan (geneological line to the Brooklyn Dodgers infamous "Wait till next year" mantra) in me, but t temper things, this year isn't supposed to be our year. Lavin knows thig. It's likely the reason GG was red shirted, to help stack next year's NCAA tourney team with depth.

I'm all for the Redmen to go to New Jersey, and beating the hell out of Rutgers. I just am not going to get bent out of shape with a loss, and netiehr should any of us.

i agree hope they win but wont be suprised if they loss by double digits either . also i think making the nit will be a good season for this team hoping for 9-9 in b.east and nit but if you think this team is making the big dance it not happening i hope im wrong but dont see it this year. next year is our year if we land lawrece

10-1 odds that we make the tournament is an exaggeration. I was surprised to see this but we are 64th in RPI and 31st in SOS. Really surprised about the latter considering the cupcakes we faced early. Plus a 64 in RPI ain't bad when you factor in a home loss to UNCA.

No no my friend 10-1 is a gross display of hyperbole. Maybe 4-1 but definitely not 10. The committee factors in more than you think. If we perform better in the post-Branch ineligibility era, then they will weigh the 2nd half of the season more. It's all right in front of us these next 3 games to make some headway.

And your also wrong about this being a must win game. Every game is a must-win, especially when you have a chance to avenge a home loss and have 2 extremely winnable games following that up. I'd say this is a must-win.

5 point dogs.
not that I condone gambling but I'm taking those points tomorrow

DITTO

Whats the money line?

The website I use only has the normal line up Ritgers-4.5, too early in day for $$ line. I would guess STJ would be + 150 .

Too early in the day for a ML? What kind of fugaze site you use ;)

Tom I'm at work and can't check the link. Hence me asking :)

I went back and checked, +170 .

I think these next three games will really define our season. Plus, we owe Rutgers a punch in mouth after that last game. Tonights game and the next two will tell us a lot about what this team is made of. I know they're young and inconsistent and that they can lose this game but these are winnable games.
