2nd Rutgers Game

I only caught the 2nd half but, this was one ugly game and while it was a very good road win, Dr.Naismith and his apostle, Bobby Knight, would have been appalled at the play on the Court.. Both teams, Rutgers especially would not have beaten St. Anthony of Jersey City's sisters team last night. They were awful in every facet of the game..

We continue to look like a CYO team from the foul line. It's hard to believe kids this skilled in some facets of the game etc can't shoot free throws any better. I'm thinking they don't shoot free throws in playground games, just take the ball out of bounds.. It's a fundamental part of the game that's important.

But, winning ugly is ok. Any win in the W column is a plus.

Being ranked last in ft's in a 16 team conference is an embarrassment. Obekpa does not even "TRY" on the ft line! No concentration, no form...just throws it up like a prayer.

Another important road win and when it comes against Rutgers it is all the sweeter. We hit our foul shots (who am I kidding) and it would have been a blowout.
Speaking of foul shooting.....whoever is the foul shooting coach should be fired and replaced by Ron Naclario on a consultant basis!
Karr was voted MVP by SNY but they must have confused him with Sir Dom.
Jamal Branch has arrived as our point guard and our all-Texas backcourt is starting to click. Still makes some knucklehead decisions but he seems like a very coachable young man and will only get better.
The Oscar for best supporting actor for faking an injury goes to Chris Obekpa who, shooting close to 0% from the FT line, gave the ball to Phil the 4th to miss for him.
The RAC looked half empty so the home crowd influence left SJ underwhelmed.
Nice to see Lavin recognize RU was going to hack us to death in the final minutes and realize Balamou was of more value than Obekpa.
I went to the fridge for a beer and must have missed Frenchie since the boxscore showed his usual turnover and meaningless 3 minutes.
4-3 in Big East!!!

This post is hilarious! I particularly enjoy the line about green missing for obekpa

Thanks Boo!
I tried to keep it short, sweet and civil. As you can see, I wrote the blurbs last night. But wouldn't you know it, that pornoholic Fun POS former redmen dot comer copied my thoughts again in his 8:00 am recap this morning down to the Obekpa/Greene analogy to the Sampson/Pointer MVP blurbs. He then proceeds to call ME, his biggest fan, a fu*khead plagiarist on BEB! A message board populated by 9 active members but a place to call home until this sissy comes crawling back to RM once the plug is pulled on BEB!
I will welcome him "home" with open arms....well, maybe arms length since he is known to be quite odorous.

Pornoholic Fun. that's really funny.

Absolutely correct! I would think Lavin would be embarrassed as well in this stat..

CO NEEDS A COMPLETE FUNDAMENTALS COURSE IN BB 101 THIS SUMMER. hE NEEDS IT ALL. offense, rebounding, dribbling, passing, boxing out, defense.

Sure he's a great shot blocker but,in many ways his limited skills are a team liability until he improves his overall game.

Hey gang, you do know the kids won a BE game on the road by double digits. After reading 15 pages I am fairly certain many of the posters have forgotten that. Instead of feeling good about the kids turning around their season, this thread is making my face hurt similar to the pain you would get from staring into Mike Rice's eyes.
