Nice listen of last night's game on WBBR 1130 AM, love Brandon Tierney (my wife's maiden name too), very exciting call by BT and Mink.

Defense! Defense! Defense! Keep playing in your face man to man; has stopped the opposition's three point shooters.
Is there a better, non stop defender then Sir Dom? I'm exhausted watching his all over the court hustle. Right now we can' t afford to lose this kid to foul trouble. Strong starting group in Harrison, Branch, Sampson and Pointer.
Any suggestions on how to watch the game's re-run/encore et.
thank you

I think I asked for this before - anyway to watch a rerun since I did not see game last night?
thanks
FTs werent the only negative. Greene's play continues to be underwhelming. He's playing himself out of the rotation.
He drove the baseline with a defender all over him with about 3:30 left in the game, with the shot clock still sitting at about 20 seconds and took a very ill-fated layup attempt that wasn't even close and I'm just sitting here shaking my head like "what are you doing?"
He did make a baseline jumper before that, but you have to know better than to try that in that situation, especially if you're one of the ball handlers on the team.
There is clearly friction between Greene and Branch and Greene and Harrison. Branch and Harrison seem to have developed some chemistry, but not so with Greene. I think we'll need all three to be able to coexist in order to get the most out of this season. Obekpa should be limited to about 20 mpg, and the only way to really do that is to run a lot of the three-guard set.

Greene has just been missing open shots though, dont think you can blame it on the chemistry.
Come on guys, Greene was the only recruit in last year class ranked outside the top 100. No he isn't on the way to being all Big east this year, but he is only a sophmore!
Getting back on point.... Over/Under was 131 That last second 3 by Rutgers was important from where I'm sitting.
Also, can we please stop dissing our players????

Maybe so ... but he shouldn't starting. His numbers haven't improved over last year's (.366 this year vs. .365 FG, and .250 this year vs. .284 from 3-point range), and over the past five games (all conference games) he's shooting 9 for 39 / .230 from the field (3 for 22 for .136, if you take away his 6 for 17 against ND) and 2 for 19 from 3-point range (.105!). Those numbers are just awful, sophomore or not.

He's been playing with a broken hip, for God's sake! I hear Lavin gave him a Life Alert---in case he falls and can't get up.
I agree you are not dissing Greene you are giving your observation. Greene has not been producing, maybe if he was healthy that would be another story but hes not.Come on guys, Greene was the only recruit in last year class ranked outside the top 100. In all seriousness, no one, least of all me, is "dissing" any of our players. But the fact is, Greene -- whose attitude and tenacity I've repeatedly praised -- shouldn't be starting ... at least not until he starts putting up better numbers. Right now,his numbers speak for themselves and, as we've seen, they're really bad, especially for a two guard.
Just got back from the game.
Kudos to the 50 or so students who made the trek to The RAC.
Also kudos to the fair number of NJ alums who came out for the game and cheered the team onto victory.
JSJ, Are you self kudo'ing there? If so, well deserved on your part. Hope you njoyed the game. Nice win.
Had the priviledge of sitting next to The Earl of Barry !

More importantly Mjmaherjr won some nice beer money betting on St Johns last night. Will be spent well at the Seton Hall game

Another important road win and when it comes against Rutgers it is all the sweeter. We hit our foul shots (who am I kidding) and it would have been a blowout.
Speaking of foul shooting.....whoever is the foul shooting coach should be fired and replaced by Ron Naclario on a consultant basis!
Karr was voted MVP by SNY but they must have confused him with Sir Dom.
Jamal Branch has arrived as our point guard and our all-Texas backcourt is starting to click. Still makes some knucklehead decisions but he seems like a very coachable young man and will only get better.
The Oscar for best supporting actor for faking an injury goes to Chris Obekpa who, shooting close to 0% from the FT line, gave the ball to Phil the 4th to miss for him.
The RAC looked half empty so the home crowd influence left SJ underwhelmed.
Nice to see Lavin recognize RU was going to hack us to death in the final minutes and realize Balamou was of more value than Obekpa.
I went to the fridge for a beer and must have missed Frenchie since the boxscore showed his usual turnover and meaningless 3 minutes.
4-3 in Big East!!!
This post is hilarious! I particularly enjoy the line about green missing for obekpa
