2024-25 Season

Gonna just mention, but watched last few games a few times and Ruben Prey is going to be fantastic. He’s got such amazing size, athleticism; rebounding and awareness. He’s green to basketball in the US as a freshman, but damn that kid has potential. He can guard any position on the floor as well. Total sleeper. Stud in the making:

Let's just hope he doesnt go back to Portugal.

That sounds fair I'm not sure if or how they could do that?
Don't know what the policies of the resellers are in cases like this but you would think they would have a plan in case something like this happens. I rarely buy from those places just for situations like this or other situations.

Case in point, last year in Charleston, tickets were sold as general admission. Appparently the third party sites didn't sell them as such and sold them with actual seat and row locations. Various disagreements started and the staff basically shrugged it off, like "not my problem",

im thinking... if Sim and Scott improve just a lil bit... a we get to where Nebraska is... who gonna beat us???
Been saying that. The difference between us and some of the great defensive teams of the past is we have a few guys who on any given day could - could - hit some shots. Not saying they will. But if lightening strikes in the right place at the right time, stuff could happen

Houston great defensive team hitting shade under 40% from 3. 197-500

But Rick Pitino doesn’t see a finished product. In fact, the Hall of Fame coach believes the Johnnies have plenty of room for improvement, particularly on the offensive end.

“The great thing about us is, I would say, we’re 60 percent of the way potentially [of how good we can be],” Pitino said during a Q&A session after a screening of the first episode of the new Vice TV docuseries, “Pitino: Red Storm Rising,” which chronicles the St. John’s season. “We’re not a very good offensive team. We don’t pass real well, we don’t shoot real well, and we can get so much better at that.

I didn't mean this year (why I said "past") - they're better offensively this year. But from 21/22 through 23/24 they were around 34%. The 21/22 team which is the one that has the most comparable defensive stats to us was also the worst shooting team of the bunch.

Of course now that I look at the numbers even that terrible offensive team shot better than us from 3, we aren't even at 30% this season. Woof.

I have been watching a lot of other conference games the past week or so, and it does not matter what level, whether SEC or MAAC, it seems like every team has a guy or 2 or more who can shoot it better than our guys have. It confounds me. I understand that some of that in the lower conferences may not translate to the BE, but some would (and we have a number of examples in past few years where even Div 2 guys have come in and been able to shoot it). Hard to believe we go year after year with poor outside shooting.
