And if you're a loyal fan that bought tickets on the secondary market to a sold out game that had no other option...we screwed you.Due to increased demand for the final home game of the 2024-25 season, the St. John's men’s basketball program will be changing the venue for its Saturday, March 1 contest with Seton Hall. The game will now be played at Madison Square Garden after originally scheduled at Carnesecca Arena. Tip time is set for 2:15 p.m.
If you are a full Season Ticket Holder or a Student Season Ticket Holder:
You will not be impacted financially and you will be given your regular season ticket location seats. Those tickets will be uploaded into your account within the week.
If you are a Madison Square Garden plan holder:
Your tickets will be uploaded to your account and we will honor the discounted rate that we had given when you purchased either the 7 or 8-game Madison Square Garden plan.
Your current locations will be in your account for purchase starting Thursday, February 13 by 4 p.m. You will have until Tuesday, February 18 at 9 a.m. to purchase these seats. If you do not purchase your seats, they will be released for public sale.
For Group tickets:
Your Ticket Representative will be contacting your group leader this week to discuss changes and next steps.
For Single Game Buyers:
Single game ticket buyers who have already purchased will be sat in a comparable Madison Square Garden location without an additional charge.

St John's can't control what prices are dictated on the Secondary Market...if you are puchasing a ticket to a game at CA for north of 200$.... congrats- you have some nice disposable income. And if you're a loyal fan that bought tickets on the secondary market to a sold out game that had no other option...we screwed you.
People paid 2, 3, 4 hundred a ticket with the expectation of an Alumni Hall game. There is no comparable Msg location to that for a Seton Hall game. For Single Game Buyers:

I'll take my two tall boys at the Hall game now- thanks.Or -- stay with me on this -- 3-4x more fans now have the opportunity watch a great Johnnies team play at the Mecca of sports. How many times have we been ranked in the top 10 this century?!
I guess this is where the honor system comes in. If I knew I sold tickets already to someone, I would pass them along to that person for the garden. Demand sure wouldn't be the same but the other person paid already. But would be nice of someone who sold them would just pass them along to that person.I wonder is there a way that all the tickets that are dispersed already for the on campus game, even those who bought them on stub hub etc that those tickets should be honored. This way those who purchased on secondary market at least can attend this game at the garden? Or are tickets being completely reissued even if those people sold them already?
Seems like your gripe is more with resale marketplaces than with the school. The school can't control who sells and buy tickets and for how much on the secondary marketDon't mind me. I know I'm a relic from a bygone era
Somewhere over the rainbow.....sighI guess this is where the honor system comes in. If I knew I sold tickets already to someone, I would pass them along to that person for the garden. If i am a Seller on Stubhub (i have been) - I do not get paid until my tickets are received by the Buyer AND* the event passes.I guess this is where the honor system comes in. Ah okIf i am a Seller on Stubhub (i have been) - I do not get paid until my tickets are received by the Buyer AND* the event passes.
So to receive the astronomical price some individuals have paid, tickets will have to be transferred regardless.
Actually they had an option. Could have bought season tickets or the single game ticket when demand wasn't so high. In both cases, the money would have gone to SJU, the entitiy that is providing the ticket. And if you're a loyal fan that bought tickets on the secondary market to a sold out game that had no other option...we screwed you.
