2024-25 Season

Theres a lot of off the court issues I know about during the mike anderson era. Obviously everyone knows about all the Curbelo issues but Wusu got suspended for punching a student manager for not giving him more chick fil a. Pinzon showed up on drugs to one of those practices/games when the team went to the DR a few years ago, players were constantly high and skipped classes, etc..
I know the Wusu student manager thing was true but was it really over chick fil a ? That part I didn't know

To me it was not do much what he was saying in the huddle but that none of the players were listening or engaged. I would show that to he arbitrator to show missrepresentation that he was ever a head coach
Arbitration is an equitable forum. Arbitrator is not bound by rules of evidence. Not bound by legal precedent. Court will not upset arbitration award on appeal unless there is manifest injustice, a very high standard. Most times, an arbitrator need not even make specific findings of fact or law- simply state who wins and the amount of the award, if any. The process allows the arbitrator wide discretion to do rough justice. Those who think this is a slam dunk for Anderson are wrong. He will have to testify for a day, maybe two, defending his performance and effort. It will not be a pleasant experience for him. He better be a good witness.

Definitely schools out there that would give Mike Anderson a job that’s not even debatable.
Want to bet? Who in their right mind would hire him? He is a failed retread, being fired from successive jobs. And he is older. Far better to hire a younger coach at less salary with an upside. Anderson has no upside.

Not a gambling man, I guess we will see once the dust settles on the lawsuit.

confused by the quotes... thought that was the 1 thing everyone here agrees on... CA is actually a Real Home Court advantage...

UBS... no. glad Rick cancelled that place
I don't agree at all. It's never been mentioned as one until Pitino said it.

interesting... always thought it was the one thing CA had going for itself...
Nah, the entire lower bowl is filled with older folks who sit on their hands until something happens instead of collegiates going nuts from the opening tip. Not a slam on the guys that go to every game, but for someone watching from home (like me because I'm not local) the arena is silent compared to other campus arenas.

I think this was a very classic "Pitino speak" thing. He knows its a dump and its really not a good place to see a game, but he was being very nice in making fans and the administration feel good about how bad Carnesseca is by saying it.

But there's no statistical evidence that we win games at CA that we would lose at MSG or anywhere else (forget the buy games in November. I did a BE conference match-up comparison and its very event).

And anecdotically, I don't remember any games where any one of us have posted "wow, being at CA really gave us the edge in that one." We've lost just as many heartbreakers, close games, etc. -- and typically with our guys doing the stupid stuff at the end of it.

Pitino was so mad about Barclays attendance then the first game at Hofstra ( I think it was UBS ) that he had wanted to see if they could move the remaining games to CA

I'm not saying he loves CA I have no idea but he definitely wanted that atmosphere over the crappy attendance at UBS

I was hoping they would keep at least a game at UBS each year to try and build it into something. It is what it is

I think UBS was straight up detrimental to the team, so in comparison to that, sure, Carnesseca is Cameron Indoor

first point... absolutely correct.... When i get the opp to sit in the double letter section (seat-backs... nbd... im an elitist...lol), i am sometimes the only guy standing cheering (along with FrankinGeneral of twitter fame couple rows back)

second one... i mean...cmon... im not comparing it to other arenas... that's just not fair... it's a glorifed HS gym...

What i still stand by, and have to think most here do... is the 1 advantage of a 5k+arena on campus in Queens... is it's Gonna be a "Home" Court... not filled with 30-50% of opposing fans.
