2024-25 Season

I had no idea about that one either
I also heard no one was attending class. Team lacked any discipline. Cubelo allowed to eat popcorn on bench. Sneaking into Anderson’s press conference. Good Lord.

But try this one on. If Anderson really did fire DeMeo because he was disabled, he committed violations of federal and state law. And you can be fired for cause if you violate federal or state law. So it a strange way, if DeMeo wins his case, that victory could give him the ultimate revenge against Anderson.

Agree, but I also think some of that can be accounted for by playing small for short bursts.
Get that, but highly advisable to have a big capable of stepping in when Zuby is in foul trouble or God forbid out with an injury. Fwiw, I think solid three point shooting from perimeter guys is more of a question mark.

The reality is Zuby is the only true Big East power forward on the roster and he's playing center. But we have Coach P and a boatload of 1's, 2's, and 3's. He'll figure it out if he hasn't already.

Agree.

Also think Brady is a question mark. If he really can't step up and become more consistent, we can very well be in a position relying on a freshman to play 8-14 minutes per game.
We have 3 solid freshman( lefty, glover & prey) that might pass Brady on depth chart by mid season.

Why do I feel like posters are almost rooting against Brady? Strange as he seems like a great kid. It's certainly possible that an uber talented kid like Glover could challenge him for minutes but don't remotely see it from lefty or Prey.

Not ready to bury Brady yet. No reason why he can’t contribute in spots as he did last year. He averaged 12.3 pts in 3 straight wins against Butler, Nova and Providence.
Not rooting against Brady, but I think he's a shooter, and not much else.

Last year, he wasn't making shots, mostly because he got no arch on his release. If that's happening again this year, then I think we have better options, in terms of minutes.

If his outside shot is falling, he's invaluable.

I believe Brady is still maturing into his body, by evidence of his growth spurt and weight gain. He’s going to be a solid player when Pitino get done with him. Definitely a four year player but a solid one in year 3 and 4.

Would have gotten a lot more minutes at Notre Dame but his skill set will be much higher with Pitino tutelage.

I don’t get the collective wet blanket for Brady.

Give him a few games at least.
I am pulling for him and appreciate the pressure he faces to hit shots consistently & it is fair to give him some reasonable time to acquit himself. His main value here is obviously helping our perimeter game and hopefully he shows that in OOC games.

I agree with most here that if Brady stays he'll be a valuable player in year 3&4. But any skepticism I have comes from the fact that I've never seen a guy with a reputation as a shooter show up and have that bad of a jumper. Yes he had two games where he shot the ball well. But there's no way to consistently shoot the ball well when your J is that flat, and changing the way you've shot the ball your entire life is HARD.

Like i said, even if he's just an average shooter going forward He'll be a valuable piece year 3/4 because of his b-ball smarts and leadership. He'll continue to get stronger so I expect him to rebound a little. Not expecting much this year except in spurts. Hope he stays the whole way through.

I think Brady will surprise many on this board. With a lot of work, I think we'll see flashes of a very good player.
I don’t think it’s the flashes people are necessarily worried about. More about constancy. But I agree that hard workers with talent eventually get there, just more a matter of when for me.

  • Brady's work ethic undoubtedly has his shot as crisp as possible to be prepped for this season. If he thrives he's going to have to take advantage of the many catch and shoot opportunities via adept fastbreak passers in Kadary/Smith that weren't there for him last year (Dingle).
  • The big caveat as we all know is his defense. He won't see expanded minutes until he can stay in front of his man and the Rutgers exhibition wasn't an encouraging precursor for his defensive improvement.
  • Most of all with him it's confidence which like all freshmen went up and down last year like a rollercoaster.
  • If he gets going and we have him as a guaranteed threat from the perimeter it adds that much more depth that will pound teams into submission over the full 40 minutes.
