2023-24 Roster

Not sure where to put this and if it’s already been posted I apologize. This interview with Cragg is pretty good and insightful. He speaks about most of the roster leaving and a more about Rick signing. Picks up about 3 minutes in.

Agree. I think Jones came in expecting to be an alpha…presumably RP will recruit other alphas and Jones will have to “fit in” as a secondary player in which case he becomes very dangerous

Wouldn’t mind seeing Jones play for Pitino.
Scorer off the bench would seem like ideal role for him.

He had great footwork form what we saw. If he can be a shot blocker that's all we need. That alone would be better than almost everyone else we had last year

Just to temper things a bit for first season. Rick went 14-14 first year with Kentucky trying to replenish an entire roster.

That UK year was not in the transfer era, though. Now you can add 25 year olds with male pattern baldness for a year.

Not getting 5 impact transfers and even if did, never know what you get throwing a team together last minute, If look at the tournament one maybe two portal guys to improve the core. People who think we will be great year 1 just setting themselves up to be miserable and look stupid when they turn on Pitino year 1.

But still had more returning players than we will have next year. Pitino is great and would be shocked if don’t make a Sweet 16 or two while he is here. But next year will be about changing the culture more than actual number or wins I believe.

Yeah, there was no transfer portal then and that first team was devoid of talent and on probation. Not comparable to today in any way

What do you consider impact? Because we’re definitely gonna get 5 that play
