I love me some Rick Pitino.
I just find the infallibility placed on new coaches in their first weeks by redmen.comers to be especially overdone. It'd make the Pope envious.
Norm just landed Geno Lawrence and Dexter Gray! Take that Jarvis! Who said we couldn't recruit local?? We now have pipelines into Lincoln and Mt. Vernon!
This guy Nurideen Lindsey? He's a pro! 6-4 PG and can do everything! He broke Wilt's scoring record or something. Go Lav go!
Did you just see Matt A landed Darien Williams B4 the ink dried on Mullin's contract? And now I'm hearing we're getting Slice?! There's no gym we won't be in!!

and how many of them were HOF coaches while still coaching that won big everywhere they went? Just making a point not that your observations aren't hilarious but I for one wasn't over the moon for any of those other coaches. If RP doesn't win at least fairly big here I will start to question whether the sky is blue, the sun rises in the east and that water is wet.

Yeah, I know I said I wasn't going to sign on today, because I can't deal with reading something and asking myself is this real or some bs joke.
So now we're comparing a HOF coach to a scrub (Norm), a salesman (Laving), a guy with no coaching experience (Mullin). and avg Mike (Anderson)? Oh for FFS.
He won 2 championships with 2 schools, and took 3 schools to the FF4, but yeah lets comparing to the last 4 coaches that we had. <shaking head>.
I never rush summer and say I can't wait for November since that's gettinmg close to winter, but I'll say it for the first time in my life.
I seriously can't wait for November. I'm going to be laughing at a few people.

I just looked up and seems like there have been 3.
Corey Floyd to Providence was mid April. jones to SJU was May 1st. Then Akok to Gtown was May 2nd.
When I look at RP’s rosters over the years, he has definitely had a number of stud guards who were relatively small (6’1” and below). . .but, for the most part, I believe he will look to build rosters with good size and strength along with skill (shooting etc.) - ala UCONN.
No rocket science here but I think the rosters will look different than what we’ve been accustomed to. IMO, recent rosters included players who were the best we could get irrespective of fit. Pitino, fortunately, has the gravitas and hopefully will be armed with the tools (NIL, scheduling, future facilities) to potentially crash that ceiling.

guessing Dave tweeting about it means he has an inside track there. Makes sense for him to come back too. Giving his INTL experience I’m sure Rick sees promising clay to mold.
If not it will have nothing to do with his academics.
