We should have never taken David Jones. Never sat well with me there. And now we’ve firmly wedged open the door for intra conference transfers.
That door would have been wide open regardless if we took Jones or not. He goes in conf, and when we play his team, I'll hope Clayton or another PG lights him up, and we shut him down. He'll likely shed 15 pounds and get his freshman year hops back.
I wish him well but am hoping he lands out of conference at a high major.
Maybe. And maybe I’m not paying close enough attention to other BE teams. And maybe I’m not paying attention to other conferences. But seems like we were the real first in the BE. And now all our guys have other BE names next to them. Might never happen but where there is smoke there’s fire. That door would have been wide open regardless if we took Jones or not. Posh isn't a true point.I heard that too like right after RP was hired. I thought it was my Hall booster friend messing with me, but it appears he may have been onto something. They could use a true point
That wouldn’t be a good fit for him if the roster remains as such. That was a defense first team this year that couldn’t throw it in the ocean against most BE squads (our stellar “defense” excluded). Posh would fit well with Sha as a coach, but I don’t see how him and Richmond co-exist any better than him and Curbello failed to. And they have Femi on top of that who is basically a poor man’s Richmond. Unless Kadary leaves that won’t make sense for Posh if he doesn’t return here. From what I’ve heard Posh may be headed to Seton Hall
I believe there were two or three within conference before Jones.Maybe. And maybe I’m not paying close enough attention to other BE teams. And maybe I’m not paying attention to other conferences. Except their most important and best player by far, Richmond, believes he is a PG. If they want him to come back, it is going to be as a PG. They already lost their second best player in Samuel to the portal.I heard that too like right after RP was hired. Providence and Gtown were right there with us with that. And I have no doubt some others would have followed suit.Maybe. And maybe I’m not paying close enough attention to other BE teams. Maybe a little of both. There were a # of contributing factors that led to his sub-par season…but I have to agree that he was not an inept offensive player…in fact, during his first 2 years he was a very reliable shooter/scorer on the pull up jump shots foul line and in…I always felt like SJ had a fighting chance when he was on the court during his 1st 2 years as he just had a will to win…
as I said, a number of things adversely impacted his junior year including, among other things, a role change, fixation on the 3 and others…all of which impacted his confidence which resulted in poor shooting even from points on the court where he generally was previously successful.
But, for me, the most puzzling thing about Posh was the fact that he either willingly ceded a leadership role or the coach didn’t make him a leader (along with Soriano)…in prior years it was Posh and Champ.
If you had asked me who would be our captain in junior year and beyond, it would have been Posh..but something changed along the way that put him on a different path. No idea whether it was him or the coaching.
Lol. I’m almost with you, but did you not love the Georgetown and Pitt teams of the mid 80’s? I loved our teams, but still appreciated the rest of the league. I love our guys and don’t want them to beat us, but Posh and Dylan are still a part of St John’s lore.If any of our former players transfers within the conference, then any rooting I have (or may have) goes right outta the window.
If they're the enemy (meaning a Big East foe), then the hell with 'em.Lol. I’m. Almost with you, but did you not love the Georgetown and Pitt teams of the mid 80’s? I love our guys and don’t want them to beat us, but Posh and Dylan are still a part of St John’s lore.
Great fit for him basketball-wise.From what I’ve heard Posh may be headed to Seton Hall
Without knowing how you define a true point, the only position Posh can and should play is the point.Posh isn't a true point.
Seton Hall save Dawes was a mess shooting the ball this year too. Whoever said Posh should call Bob Huggins a few days ago hit the nail on the head.Posh isn't a true point.
West Virginia, Houston or Virginia would seem ideal.Seton Hall save Dawes was a mess shooting the ball this year too. Whoever said Posh should call Bob Huggins a few days ago hit the nail on the head.
He plays the point position, but he isn't a true point guard.Without knowing how you define a true point, the only position Posh can and should play is the point.
IMO you are maybe 1 for 3 which isn't bad for a baseball player.West Virginia, Houston or Virginia would seem ideal.
