2023-24 Roster

You guys are out of your minds about Posh not getting minutes. AJ Storr, ok, but Posh? He might be the best rebounding guard in the country and he won the Big East defensive player of the year. Some people act like he’s inept on offense too. His coach was offensively inept, sure.

Posh is going to make minutes anywhere he plays even if the team has to play 4 guards. End of story,
Posh will be an asset to anytime he decides to go to for sure. I’m sure he is going to do his due diligence and find a place that is looking for a hard nose on ball defender that won’t require him to be a primary or secondary scoring option. He will have no shortage of Power 5 suitors.

That's why I think it's a good move on his part, he can choose his situation carefully to maximize his senior year. There's too many unknowns here for him. In a week or two, he knows he's the starting point guard. I wish him the best, he was fun to root for.

It seems pointless to worry about who leaves or stays. The only player worth keeping based on last year imo Soriano. He outworked every player on the roster and seems to give a damn. If R.P. doesn't want 8 of our players that just confirms how incredibly irrelevant we are. Finally, after 20+ years, this is no "might be" or "could be" a great hire. He's a great hire.
If R.P. Can't fix this mess. We're done.

I hope Posh does not transfer within the conference. It would make it much easier for me to root for him if we do not play his new team.
Id love him to. He cripples an offense as you dont need to guard him on the perimeter. How many times did we see an opposing guard picking him up at the foul line rather then the 3 point line.

Posh at seton hall would be great for us.

Got to be patient, but good times they be coming with Rick calling the shots.

He'll likely shed 15 pounds and get his freshman year hops back.
I wish him well but am hoping he lands out of conference at a high major.

Are you saying he got fat and lazy at St Johns?
A quick question. M-R! Nah. just that I think it'd be better for his game a little lighter that's all.
And I bet he will---which is why I'd rather he not play against us in conference next year, lol.

There were a # of contributing factors that led to his sub-par season…but I have to agree that he was not an inept offensive player…in fact, during his first 2 years he was a very reliable shooter/scorer on the pull up jump shots foul line and in…I always felt like SJ had a fighting chance when he was on the court during his 1st 2 years as he just had a will to win…

as I said, a number of things adversely impacted his junior year including, among other things, a role change, fixation on the 3 and others…all of which impacted his confidence which resulted in poor shooting even from points on the court where he generally was previously successful.

But, for me, the most puzzling thing about Posh was the fact that he either willingly ceded a leadership role or the coach didn’t make him a leader (along with Soriano)…in prior years it was Posh and Champ.

If you had asked me who would be our captain in junior year and beyond, it would have been Posh..but something changed along the way that put him on a different path. No idea whether it was him or the coaching.

He doesn't make excuses . . . so I'll make legit ones for him. I'm willing to bet my life that he had a nagging injury and/or has a seething hatred for Curbelo. Ruined his whole season when we expected another jump.

But look at all the good stuff he did for his first two years. I can't comprehend how there are people here who think he's a bag of shit to be lit on fire. It's really weird. I'm sure he doesn't want to be the third guard, but any team with him as a third guard and a great coach would go far.

Agree, based on pre-season comments from CMA, I expected Posh & Soriano to be virtual co-captains with the complete trust of their coach. It didn't seem to work out that way and while CMA paid lip service to Posh as a key cog, there was a clear disconnect just watching the time out huddles. I can't help but think it all revolved around Curbelo and the confusion as to who was running the offense, but maybe I'm wrong.

One thing is for sure, the team was probably even more dysfunctional than they appeared to be watching the games, which is saying something.

Listen, it would make the Seton hall game a heck of a lot more interesting if he goes there.
