Look, RP WILL bring in players. Year 1 won't be the real test. He will, IMHO, have us competitve this coming year, but once he is able to recruit in a more normal way, then we'll really see the impact.

I don’t like this at all. Hard to root for a bunch of transfers and one and dones. I guess this is the state of college basketball. Yuck!

The thing I keep saying to myself is…what options do they really have? Do they want to sit a year? Can they get an immediate waiver? That’s the biggest factor I would assume.

I hear you Boo. Having gone through two regime changes during my years in corporate America, this is really no different as college basketball has definitely become a business. As IDraft has pointed out repeatedly much of the change has come from players desire to have freedom of movement and to get paid for their efforts which is understandable. I do expect this disruption to be temporary while Pitino gets his players in place for year 1.

My last post for the day. First I trust in Rick completely and what I’m about to say isn’t a criticism. He wants his own players that’s fine.
For me personally one of the things that made Lavins first season special is the team sane players sucked under Norm so personally I was hoping the first season would be a turnaround with some of the core guys like Posh and Wusu. Again it’s not a criticism and some left on their own. it’s just what I was hoping for to see these kids improve as a team under Coach.

I wish these guys well, they put on SJU jerseys but I think a few of these guys are gonna regret leaving. They have a real opportunity to prove themselves here and are choosing to leave. Oh well.

I want some continuity. Again, I have no inside info at all, but Posh and Dylan seemed like real good kids who worked hard. We couldn’t build with any of these kids in the fold? They’re disposable because they weren’t successful under a bad coach?
This is not the college basketball I grew up watching. Still rooting like heck for the Johnnies and have faith in Pitino but this turns my stomach.
