2023-24 Roster

It does sound like only Joel and Drissa will be back (maybe Keita as I believe he's injured so Rick couldn't be working him out). I really thought that if Dylan would accept a 7th or 8th man role off the bench, Pitino would want him as he's proven he can compete at the Big East level and does a lot of things well. Should be a very interesting April. I'm looking forward to seeing the new Johnnies week by week!

Fanta gets it these players won nothing ....sad to see Posh, Storr go but this is not the end of the world...They went 7-13 in Big East last year ....Deep Breathe and everything will be fine with Rick in charge
By that logic we should t accept a transfer from a program that didn’t make the NCAA last year.

There are alot of factors to consider for these athletes. I am sure there are offers for Posh and others which are just better than what Pitino is offering at this point in time (playing time, NIL, etc.). In today's landscape, not only are you a coach, but you are a GM as well. I am sure there is a "salary cap" for a team (NIL) that needs to be considered when making every decision. Pitino needs to construct the roster considering talent and what can be offered through NIL. Where do you want to spend your money. Maybe Posh was ok with the role presented, but he has a better offer on the table elsewhere. Can't blame him in that case, and I am sure his list of suitors is long. So many factors we will never know.

I see Dylan taking a similar path as Earlington: moving down a level and being a starter and solid contributor.

Lots of respect for Wusu. He started off as sort of an afterthought but seemingly worked himself to a bigger role. Wish him luck.

None of this is shocking. Our Program had become a laughingstock. Wild and undisciplined basketball. I and many here could write a book on what we saw. Cross court passes, throwing the ball at the basket and hoping for the best is not a “shot attempt” but a turnover. Not covering wide open 3 point shooters without adjustment.
The gang that can’t shoot straight as it were. Everyone watched it. Everyone here KNOWS it.

None of this is really on the guys that were here. This was the preferred style of the Coaches really for the last few Coaches to some extent. This was the preferred “style” of basketball. “Hero” ball as many here have suggested. No one could watch our games and could think “this is the path to sustained success”. NO ONE on staff seemed to correct it.

So here we are. Real change is here.

Why would bob huggins want a pg who cant shoot? WVU is a good enough program that they would not have to settle for a one dimensional pg.
I didn't say he had to start. Posh is a serviceable D1 player especially with a good coach. With that said, if Pitino doesn't see a fit here in line with his expectations, I am good with that as well. Both thoughts can be true or "right".
