2023-24 Roster

14 would be the max for him.
Not trashing him, that is not his game. Harvey, Barkley, Hardy, Jackson were all way better offensive players and didn’t average 20.
Again, how can you say that’s the max when he did it the BE as the 3rd option and as an underclassmen already. Doesn’t make any sense man, but this is going no where so we can stop.

Poshs offensive stats are mostly based on baskets resulting from pressure defense which was pretty much dropped this past season. His offensive game is pretty much non existent in the half court offense.
If Pitino surrounds him with three shooters he will do fine because his other skills can make up for his lack of offense but it doesn’t work when he is surrounded by non shooters like Anderson did.

14 points on a bad team is his max yes.
His jumper look better this year compared to any other year?

The telltale sign of a poor argument is the resort to ad hominem attacks for which your post is replete.

You say I have a habit of bashing players. Utterly false, but even if true, how does that support your argument?

You say I am fixated on Posh. Again this is a bait and switch and wholly irrelevant to your argument.

I’ve asked you several times to provide support for your supposition that Posh was not attending class. The only evidence you’ve provided is vague language in a termination letter — a document that was clearly drafted to justify CMA’s for cause firing — that didn’t reference a single player.

Obviously you are free to draw whatever conclusions you wish even if they are based on total speculation. But to post with certainty like you know something when you clearly don’t, particularly when it comes to the character of a player who by all accounts has given his all to this program for three years, is in my opinion unfortunate.
Oy ve!
Who are you???
Your word salad looks suspiciously like the speech writer for Kamala Harris.
This is the final time I'm going to respond to this Posh issue, he and two other players have been the only players ever mentioned in print about discipline issues.
Take it up with the sports writers,.

The team was mismanaged this past season. Either guys were left in games too long or CMA threw guys off with his “line changes.” Regarding Posh, I think he spent a lot of time in the weight room and his shooting was impaired by his upper body being too muscular or injured. A year where the head coach negativery impacted team play and individual play and performance. Welcome to a new era.

What I find most interesting is that Curbelo has yet to enter the portal. The kid is immensely talented and much more of a pure PG then Posh. Could it be that Rick has not completely written him off yet(in spite of the fact that most of our fan base has)?

Most players miss classes during the season for "basketball" reasons. I'm not sure if was ever discussed on any thread here but during the season certain players were either not played (coaches decision and team rules) or barely played. Cutting classes is usually the main reason. Grad assistants are usually the snitches in these cases.
As we all know, this issue is one of the flimsy reasons for CMA's termination for cause.
So no, but speculation.

I think he has to sit a year if he transfers since he has already transferred once. This may be what is holding up his entry. He would have to do an awfully good sales job to convince Pitino that he will change his ways.

Maybe he's undergoing an epiphany as we speak. If he does convince Rick, that's good enough for me. One thing we know for certain, he will not be given a very long leash.

Agree.
I may have missed it, but I haven't seen David Jones mentioned by any hoops pundits and that kind of surprises me because he's a talent waiting to be 'Ricked' and close to Joel.
But we'll likely know a lot more about the roster over the next few days.
Would think Joel is giving RP some feedback on DJ being the captain and a close friend of Jones.

If Jones is to have a chance to play for Pitino he will have to learn to play under control. Pass the ball when driving into three defenders and perhaps take fewer 35 foot shots.

Both of which he did at two programs already. He also might not want to ignore his coaches outstretched hands every time he comes out of the game and turn his back on them.

Doesn’t shoot 3 well and not a good FT shooter.
I think Posh is a good player but is not a good offensive player. Tommy Amaker, Ed Cota type.
On a good team with other options ideally Posh 8-12 ppg range
Ed Cota was a hell of an offensive player. He changed his game at the request of dean Smith to be more of a pass first point guard because he had so many weapons around him.

David Jones seems like the perfect candidate to be a volume scorer on a team with limited other options. Remember when we had Daryl Hill in like 2004 when Daryl Hill shooting was our best option, Daryl Hill taking a bad shot was our second best option, and a shot clock violation was third. That's kinda how I feel David Jones got to play at DePaul and he tried to keep it going here and CMA tried to make him like a "instant offense" sixth man. Didn't quite work out that well.

At DePaul he got to play next to the BE leading scorer, and he still got to play like he was the best option lol. That’s part of the problem.

Solid comparison.

Regarding Posh: I’ve seen him play many times going back to when he was a sophomore at OSL. He’s always been the guy who stands out because of his effort. He’s still an emotional kid. That’s never changed.

I hate seeing him tossed aside as an afterthought. I’m confident he will do everything to show Pitino whatever happened last season was an enigma. Regardless I wish him the best.
