2023-24 Roster

Here my argument:
If Storr is told to hit the bricks and Rick decides to keep Curbelo and Wusu I am good.
I like Posh. For a variety of reasons he was terrible last year. Whatever Pitino decides to do with roster, even if not my preference I have faith in. Got the guy we wanted, don’t see point of debating who stays and goes.
Because it will linger and what is the point.
Said a million times im fine with what ever RP does. Don’t get the point in not talking about what might take place and what we might envision on the board.

This not geared to you but the people arguing that Posh doesn’t fit. “Pro” Posh people then saying that “anti” Posh people are some kind of bad person for pointing it out. Well I like Posh but also don’t think he fits with our new coach, so what does that make me?

I actually think Posh fits perfectly with our new coach. He preaches defense first. Look at Pitino’s PG’s over the years, they weren’t all good shooters.

Unless there was something with Posh behind the scenes, I expect him back and think a lot of how Pitino has handled him since Tuesday is motivation. I think under Pitino we see a much better Posh than we saw last year. Pitino knows what Posh did against top competition his first two years and will have that player as a starting point. Posh will also be 20 pounds lighter.

Tell me you couldn’t play
Posh
Clayton
Timberlake
Storr
Soriano

In fact regardless, if those two transfers come I bet we see them next to another lead guard.
I would be very surprised if Pitino went with what are essentially FOUR GUARDS on the NBA level. Timberlake and Storr have the size and length. Clayton may sign with Florida.
Posh would easily get 20 minutes a game as a point and defender.
We desperately need a power forward with all-around skills like Ludlum but he may opt for one of the elite majors.
Botton line is if we went with your proposed lineup we are merely recycling the Anderson small ball lineup by adding two mid-major players.
In short, we would be frocked.

There is no lineup we put out this year that had 3 40% 3 pt shooters. Besides this is not my proposed starting lineup or best lineup. Just a counter to Posh not having space. This lineup is not far fetched from a college perspective size wise. Especially when you have the best rebounder in the league.

Obviously all this is up to the Rick, but I just have a feeling he'll keep Posh and revive the 'old Posh...he'll thrive under CRP.
Don't know how many guards he'll play, but that again is up to the maestro.

Maybe we should expect a slight fall-off in performance if we get both WC Jr., and Timberlake given the step - up in SOS.
That said, I think they'll do well and I suppose so does CRP.

Thanks for sharing this. There is literally not one bad word you can say about this kid. Gave his all from day one. Sure, some may not like his game or think we can do better than him here. And that's fine. Maybe we can.

But he's given his heart and soul to the program, been a great representation of the school, and always given 100% effort. He could have easily left for another program already. I just hope we can find a spot for him next year, would be sad to see him go.
NOBODY wants Posh to transfer! The major factor is will Posh be happy if, after Pitino workouts and practices, he is told he will be a 6th man. Some kids can't handle that.
Anderson gave him a guarantee that even with Curbelo coming he was going to start. It was a disaster mostly because Posh cannot play off the ball effectively against much bigger guards. I would love for him to lose 20 pounds and be a better skilled small point guard in the mold of the 5'11 Tyger Campbell of UCLA. I'm sure Pitino would salivate if that could happen. Bottom line is the decision rests with Posh.

If Posh doesn’t force the issue on offense to prove he can shoot and does the things he does best it would work. If Posh is going to shoot threes it will be a disaster.

The number of “X’s” will be a function of how confident CRP is that he can secure a commitment from a player better than the player x-ed.

I don’t expect many more players “X-ed” until CRP is pretty darn certain what he is bringing in.
Absolutely correct! That is why I said a couple and no more until he gets two commitments. Then I think the last two will depart. That may be a signed decommitment or a current player.
Pitino has been crystal about a complete makeover.
That is not going to change except for targets getting better NIL offers.
It's a free agents market.

Yes, that's for sure but Pitino would have to sign his targeted players to get those 40% 3 point shooters because only AJ was in that category.

My take on all this Posh talk is this. If Pitino says he fits then he fits, if Pitino says he doesn’t then he doesn’t. It’s a simple as that. We have a Hall of Fame Coach now, a guy we all clamored for. Let’s just let him do his job and everything will be fine. We all like Posh , but it’s Pitino’s call , regardless of how any of us feel personally no of us know better than Ricky P.

Which is exactly what I was talking about when I posted that lineup

Boring I guess. How bout a prediction

It is extremely hard to find any team that can play 3 players who shoot any volume at above a 40% clip. Honestly, I think you'd really have to search to find a team that could realistically do that. And my guess would be you're looking at the deep mid majors or you're having fun with the numbers (ie I just looked up STJ and we could roll out Stanley, Mathis, and Storr but it goes against the spirit of what you are suggesting).

What would be fantastic and what we lacked, was 3 starters who could shoot at a consistent at least 35% clip within BE play. That would open up a lot of room for Joel and create driving lanes. As AJ plays more and gets used to the speed of the BE on defense (or potentially bulks up a little if he wants to play more of the 3) he'd could be an key cog in your plan. It also highlights a weakness in Posh's game, because the defense can take a step and a half back and take aways Posh's two most potent offensive weapons, driving to hoop or passing to Joel. I guess what I'm saying is if we have 3 starters or even 2 starters and a sixth man that have the athleticism to compete in the Big East and shoot 40% from three everyone guaranteeing a final four next year would be right.

If we find those guys in portal, I'll still be bummed about losing some old favorites, but that feeling will easily be tempered by march of next year.
