2023-24 Roster

I haven't checked this thread in a few days because I knew that once the roster was filled out, pretty much the only thing being talked about was who is going to start, roles and how much PT each of the players are going to get.

Invariably there will be a number of posters who post the usual "I really think ____ is going to surprise a lot of people". You can bank on that being said about every player on the roster, probably numerous times.

As is always the case, we'll have some players who surprise us in a good way, and some in a bad way.

But at the end of the day, I'm confident we'll be dancing next March.

Everyone will have a chance to surprise, everyone will have an opportunity to disappoint. ;)

Is Davis basically the backup PG (10 mpg), or will Dingle play both 1 & 2, limiting Davis min ?

I expect Dingle to run point with Jenkins out. That is one of the most interesting scenarios we have for next season. My way-too-early prediction is that Jenkins plays around 28 mpg and Taylor will be on the court when he’s off. Luis or Slawinski at the 4 for added perimeter skills.

I think Dingle actually has a better handle than Jenkins, but he doesn’t have the same experience facilitating an offense.

I like Davis, but I don’t see where the minutes are coming from this season. He’ll have to really stand out on defense I think.

For the writer to suggest that Alleyne could play PG means he has never seen Alleyne play or he has no clue about basketball. Alleyne’s handle is absolute trash. He makes Phil Greene look like John Stockton.
Yeah pretty sure it will be exclusively Daniss and Dingle. I believe I read that Dingle had several 6-assist games this past year, and seems to have a very good handle so no doubt capable.

The Taylor signing to me really signaled a change in direction. From there the way Rick has finished off this class is truly amazing. Nothing but excitement and expectation building from now until tip. And with Zuby, and most importantly Dingle, I think it’s all warranted.

You mentioned on your podcast Dave was putting out a new one as well how can I find it and great job by you and cole again. Thanks in advance.

Dingle only 6’3”, too small to play sg in NBA.
He needs to develop as a PG to play at next level.

It’s coaching ability and player development. That is the advantage.
Charisma, salesmanship, reputation, winner, player development. He's created a narrative around restoration, Nyc, mecca and selling the hell out of it. How? Well, he's Keith Hernandez.

In spite of limits on NIL, facilities. Just imagine what he will bring in when those things improve.

Let's say it takes 4 years to go full blast. If it all comes to be, and I'm betting it will happen, wouldn't doubt Rick stays for a few more years past the 6.

Dangerous boundless optimism this a.m.

If you remember correctly, the Mets and Colt 45's (Astros) had to choose from the dregs the other teams put out there. In this case, Pitino chose from the top players in the portal. The NIL kept many from trying their luck in the NBA draft. I think we did pretty well overall.
*top players WHO FIT.

I am older than you. I need the cliff notes.
I wrote out sparknotes and asked myself, “is this even a thing?”. Should have asked kranmars instead. And until I just wrote out kranmars, I have always pronounced your name as Kramers. Deepest apologies old man 😁

Can you give us your sparknotes please
-Pitino is great
-Team should be good from 3
-Dingle could be all BE but playing against much better comp….
-Team should be in top 6 in BE
- Should compete for tournament spot but the crazy people on here shouldn’t expect miracles( that might not be verbatim)
-concerns are whole new team could take while to jell and 4 spot in BE a concern.
Plus too many redundant players.
-article said the 2 most promising newcomers after Dingle are Luis-said could be a pro and…..Dunlap
