2022 Yankees

game 100. mvp. mvp.
the very wide plate for both teams kept the score bare bones.
kc is a very poor run producing team.
yanks have won nearly every game in which gallo has fanned at least twice.
joey for co mvp.

That's what I said about Gallo. It's weird statistical oddity. When he plays Yankees record seems to be much better than when he doesn't.

game 100. more
Marinaccio hurled two perfect innings in relief, extending the rookie’s scoreless streak to 19 innings over 15 consecutive appearances. Closer Clay Holmes pitched a scoreless ninth as the Yankees logged their Major League-leading 14th shutout.

We need an ace pitcher. Cole can't continue to go 6 innings with a high pitch count, and give up a homer to the one guy in the lineup that can hurt you. Find a friggin way to get out of an inning with 2 outs. And the Yanks have 2 hits in the 5th inning.

another great cpmeback.

Love the great comebacks believe me! But there is something inherently wrong when a team can’t score for 7-8 innings so often against mediocre competition. Then we get swept by good teams like the Mets and Astros because they don’t fold and have great talent and we can’t just pop a HR to save us. Doesn’t bode well for October

Agree. These comebacks are exciting and this season they are beating* the bottom teams but the comebacks don't work against very good teams. They are not hitting with runners in scoring positions

Yankees are 35-21 vs. teams over 500. 14 games over .500
Astros are 27-13 vs. teams over 500. 14 games over .500

The Dodgers are 19-13 vs. teams over 500. 6 games over .500

What are records against premier teams only for Mets Yanks Dodgers Astros?
Big disparity in talent between upper echelon and the .500 teams.

Well Baseball Reference only uses 500 as a barometer. As it’s been done for 100 years.

You picked 3 teams besides Yankees and Yankees have only played 2 of those teams. I’m no scientist but hardly a representative sample size.
