2022 Yankees

game 98. muts maul monte mercilessly.
lob 10. risp zero for 8.
yanks rarely get a rbiie unless its via a getty.
since the moon was aligned with uranus, why did joey touch a bat?

Since when does a .165 hitter merit a pinch hitting opportunity in a clutch situation? Especially a guy who is incapable of making contact! Poor choices by this manager!

I heard on SNY that Gallo strikes out 40% of the time and Diaz strikes people out 60% of the time.

Great Matchup Looney...

If the Yanks had kept Cole on his normal 5 day rotation, he would have pitched tonight. Instead we get German. Great job Boone and Cashman. Prediction: Muts 8, Yanks 2.

You mean you don't think Joey G will hit a pinch hit grand slam HR in the ninth to win it in dramatic fashion for the Yankees?

WTF is Boone doing bringing in Holmes in the 8th? I'll never trust him as a manager of this team. His moves are mind-numbing. And this team still can't hit with RISP. 0 for 15 in 2 games. Pathetic and atrocious. Enjoy the regular season, because this team will not hit good postseason pitching. Same old story year after year. Judge and Stanton will be the main culprits.

Let's see if the Yankees have balls and cut Gallo to make room for Benintendi. Gave up pretty much nothing for him, so they protected their top prospects for another deal.

I hope he's vaxed, or gets vaxed. Can't have him missing potential postseason games in Toronto because he refuses this.

At that price though, my guess is that he probably is not.
Toronto was among the teams trying to get him so all signs point to him being open to getting the shot otherwise TOR of all teams was spinning wheels for no reason.

Or maybe they were just trying to drive the cost up to make the Yankees give up more.

I did read that he has told people he is open to getting the vaccine.

I am unimpressed which was the same feeling I had when we acquired Gallo (who I called a lefthanded hitting Gary Sanchez with better defense and athleticism) and Rizzo (whose talent I felt was dropping fast). Well I was right about Gallo and hoping I am wrong about Benintendi like I was about Rizzo (who I didn't want them to resign this winter as I had visions of Freeman or Olsen manning the bag at first base).

While we need someone to who can drive in runs by putting the ball in play and not just relying on the homerun (especially in the playoffs), while hitting .320, Benintendi has a total of 20 extra base hits in 90 games this season. I wanted a little more "pop" than that. Maybe that changes being in this lineup and home ballpark (I am not asking for a slew of home runs but at least trend towards the 17 he hit last year and more doubles).

I am expecting the Yankees to make additional moves for one or two starting pitchers and one or two relievers (David Robertson for a 3rd time would not displease me).
