Boone has always made questionable personnel moves that get noticed when we lose and get shoved under the rug when we win. Agree with you about Loisaga and why Leutge? Also why not let Cortes go longer with only 89 pitches?

News flash: We're 16 games up on them in the loss column. They kind of have to do this, not really to pass us (which I don't think they will), but just to stay in the thick of the playoff race.

That being said, the All-Star break is probably coming at a good time, for the Yankees.
 
Main thing for me going into the break is Severino's health and whether Losaigna will be effective going forward. If those two wound up positive the team will be fine.
 
So what the hell is the Yankees pitching plan vs. Devers? Is there a freaking plan? Because whatever it is, it's not working. You can't walk the batter in front of him. Montgomery was fortunate he only gave up 2 runs. He's lucky if he goes 4 innings tinight. Big bullpen game. This starting rotation is not too good right now.

Yeah it sucks that Devers owns the Yankees but Monty has been solid all year and this should tell the WHOLE picture before that HR

Lefties off Jordan Montgomery this year entering this game: Batting .196 (11 for 56) with 1 XBH (a double).
 
Higashioka and Gallo are downright bad. Both need to go. I could care less if Higashioka is good behind the plate. Maybe the lefty bat they got from Minnesota will contribute this year.
 
So much for a shutdown inning. Stanton hits a 3 run homer, and Montgomery gives it right back.
 
Nothing from this lineup tonight except for one swing. Happens far too often. Will be this team's undoing. Aside from Judge's HR last night, he's in a protracted slump.
