Did Taillon get out of any 2 out situations tonight? He has really skidded.
These last 2 games it looks like the Yankees of the past few years. Bad starting pitching, porous defense, suspect base running, horrible relief pitchers. Had leads in the last 2 games. Red Sux should be 18 games out instead of 14! And Boone thought Taillon threw well tonight?! Yikes.
game 85.
yanks are constantly changing their outfield defense.
same 3 players in same 3 outfield positions rarely happens game to game.
dj keeps moving from 1b to 2b to 3b.
results are the 2 crappy fielding plays by dj in the game.
in stantons strike out looking at bat, all 3 called strikes were outside the strike zone.
it was one of the worse yankee games of the season.
another bad outing by the tollyman.

Boone sucks
Well, they are 45-14 when he starts, compared to "just " 16-11 when he does not. Last year, they played at a 103-win pace after he joined the team.
Sometimes I wonder if just being another lefty bat in a somewhat dominant righty lineup has it's benefits. If nothing else, it gives the pitcher a different look, and could throw off his rhythm.
Gallo has gotten 21 Ribbies and 10 HRs so he improving and looks like a lock to get more RBIs than HRs..
and yes he's batting .166 for the year....
But in his last 7 he's .186 so he's turning the corner.
Defensive replacement/PH when you need a dinger.
He's probably a goner by August at the deadline. Bet you to the Phils

Terrible loss to a terrible team. Don't look now, but Holmes is struggling, and the Astros will have the best record by the weekend. That will result in the Yanks not advancing in the playoffs. This team needs to stop reading their newspaper clippings. They have holes. Torres' hustle or lack thereof has always been an issue. Bad baserunning a couple of times, including sliding into 3rd late on a triple try. Failure to turn a DP hurts again. And if you're going to use Judge late, why not use him after Hicks went down? Peralta was fine until he didn't bury 1 or 2 pitches at the end. Just a horrible loss.
