There have been a lot of great pitchers who gave up home runs. Catfish Hunter the most notable, and he pitched most of his career in Oakland, which does not have the reputation of a home run park.
Verlander gave up 36 homers when he won the Cy Young in 2019.
Schilling gave up 37 in helping Arizona to the World Series in 2001.
You can get away with it as a starter. Would like to see Cole knock it down a little bit (sounds like he's going to give Devers the Bonds treatment, when they meet again), but if he starts doing that, maybe he walks people. I don't want that from him.
