2022 Mets

He is great. I sent him an emailing thanking him for the column and received a great reply.
Vaccaro totally gets it. I also sent him an email a few years ago. I ”asked” that the media, himself included, that they continue to point out the Wilpons mismanagement of the Mets. He had just written such a piece and I asked that he keep up the heat/pressure. He wrote me back and basically said he agreed and that he would shine the light on issues when he could. Of course, he was as frustrated as we were but there was only so much he could do. Very fair and I was a bit shocked (!?) that he responded. I did appreciate him for that.

No idea if it made any difference but now look where we are today!

By the way, I don’t know if anyone either at the game or on TV noticed the police helicopter circling the Stadium in the top of the first inning? Not only was it distracting but in my opinion was dangerous considering the size of the crowd. Seemed unnecessary and intrusive. Someone should look into it. It was LOW and clearly trying to glimpse the game. Very strange.
my brother is nypd helicopter pilot. He was off today but I'll ask him

We took a hard loss. Scherzer got out pitched by a streaky pitcher. Thank goodness the Cardinals helped us out last night. I watched the Braves/Cards game last night and it was a good game. A few lead changes and an exciting ending.
The ESPN announcers still are terrible. I think that our announcers are so much better because of Gary Cohen. This guy is like a walking baseball encyclopedia! And he's personable. The camaraderie in the booth is very evident. Keith and Ron like Gary and respond to him in kind. A great announcing team. It takes me back to the days of Lindsey Nelson, Bob Murphy and Ralph Kiner who were Met announcers extraordinaire!

dont be yankee fans we still took 3 of four won another series. We did nwhat we needed to do, on to the next
Yesterday was just the peaks and valleys of a baseball season. The “other guys” get paid too. Even Rockies. Marquez pitched a good game. Mets get a day off and in come the Dodger dogs. Mets will need to ”pick up” the offense a bit. Lindor is like 0-19 ( or something like that). It happens. Alonso went through a similar stretch. The just “win each series” is cliche but true.

Dodgers are having an incredible season with best pitching and hitting combo. 2 of 3 would be tremendous feat but at least get one to stay in front of the Braves going into 9 versus Pirates, Nats, and Fish.

take 2 of 3 and please let me able to find parking thursday

Roosevelt Ave. Lot across the street on the other side of the el. I have never had a problem parking there.

US Open crowds could have been what Maher was referring to and would probably effect that lot. Mike, you're living in Flushing the next few days. Might as well have booked a hotel. ;)

Need a big game from Walker tonight. The guy pitching for LA is nasty but not going to go more than 5.

Look for a 1 run game either way.

Now we have to face Kershaw on Thursday. The Dodgers are bringing him back for us and moving their scheduled pitcher (I think that it was May) back to give him an extra day of rest. I hope that Bassett is up to it and doesn't get intimidated.

No matter how many injuries the Dodgers have they seem to have unlimited guys with ERA's around 2.

These are the games you find out about players. Walker in his biggest “spots” has come up small. Two bad starts against the Braves and a so so start against the Yankees. Sure he beat the Reds but who cares. In this came he was put in a tight spot and pitches around Muncy but promptly hits the .165 Gallo. He then lays a floater up to Lux. Yikes. Not good. He needs to hold this here (now 3-2). But in a playoff situation he can’t be trusted or at least that is what he’s showing so far.

I don’t usually deal in hyperboles but tonight was a bad loss. Guys left on base all night and then those 2 relievers shut you down? Vogelbach swings at ball 4, after, somehow, Escobar gets a left-handed hit? Reed is garbage.
