2022 Mets

Now that I’ve rewatched the game I see that our last two runs were not on a home run but on plain old good baseball. Does my heart good.

I would think they should be regulation height? I think there is a standard. I guess some teams make the Visitor bullpen “flat” ground. LOL Sounds like a very Red Auerbach thing to do!
Some teams make them higher, some have a different slope--no consistency with regulation mounds.

Down here is Charlotte when the Mets play the Braves it is blacked out on Extra innings and I am forced to listen to the Braves broadcast. These guys are so ridiculous it makes the wins even sweeter !

I looked it up.

Now maybe this doesn’t happen in the bullpen. Its pretty specific to the actual field. Now how this is “enforced”? In the old days I remember pitchers loving Dodger Stadium because they felt the slope favored the pitchers.

Mets need to get more time for Guillorme at 2nd. Even if it means moving McNeil to DH. Lindor-Gilly is an A+ defensive middle infield.

Much better chemistry than McN-Lindor.

That’s not a bad idea. The only problem is we do need a little more power somewhere in the lineup. Guillorme is the best fielder on the team. His ”hands” and his turns on DP’s are exceptional.

Guillorme is such an odd player. With his beard and paunch, he looks like a 40 yo beer league player.

And yet he's becoming an elite player.

If he continues to hit around .300 with a .380+ obp.... you simply have to play him every day with his D.

Beard and a paunch. LOL. I like it. The other anomaly is for a small guy he’s not fast. Not slow but certainly not fast. Minimal power, no speed…yet he’s making himself a heck of a ball player. Of course, with that profile he MUST keep the avg. and .obp high.

Taking 2 of 3.... on the road.... against the hottest team in baseball... breathing down your neck.... without two of your best hitters... is phenomenal.

Now lets take 3 of 4 in Chicago.
I'm looking for 4 out of 4! A series sweep would be nice right before the all star break.

The DHs on this team have no pop. I know that Jeffie Mac has none either but he does get on base and is pretty clutch.

Until they trade for a Balboni I'll take J-Mac

Nice solid win over a team that we should beat. Kudos to the entire team. Once again, everyone contributed. This is a a very good team run by an excellent manager. I can see us getting to the WS. Now a 4 game sweep! (I hope!).

Early in this game the Mets hit line drive after line drive. All except Dom Smith of course.

Let‘s finish strong against the Cubs. They are a struggling team and we need to exploit them.

Guillorme gives me these Justin Turner vibes. I don’t think he’ll ever hit for that kind of power but he’s a good, contact hitter, great fielder and good teammate. Always thought we gave up on JT too easily. Don’t make the same mistake with 13 (which I don’t think we will).

Stroman is gonna come out like a man on fire.

Good thing he's terrible.

Muttsies - 6 Cubbies - 3
