2022 Mets

Agree I don’t want a 3b I want a DH
It was a tough loss today and truthfully the way we played the last three games we were lucky to get two. Overall a very good first half. Fingers crossed DeGrom can come back healthy and yes we need a DH and would love to add David Robertson as well. It will be good to get a four day rest.

one of my best friends is one of Robertsons wifesbest friends and we already have a suite on I think sept 13 against chicago so that would be pretty funny if he is with us. Hopefully Tom will come over to hang with us even though he is with the enemy he's such a down to earth awesome dude who happens to own a team

It was a weird series in Chicago. The wind was clearly holding the balls in the park for both sides. No excuses but Mets did look a little tired. I almost wish Alonso was not in the HR competition. 3 of 4 on the road is good no matter who you are playing but they should have won this game. We will see more games at home the second half as they have played 7 more road games.

Lol, Mets Twitter going nuts tonight, sure that we're getting Soto from the Nats because we drafted the top rated catching prospect from college and now will deal Alvarez

Looked like Marte was putting in a pitch to Soto to come to the Mets during the HR derby. If these guys get traded before the season ends, do they get to pick who they get traded to?

No, that’s completely up to the Nationals. He’s under contract for at least two more years.

I think it’s unlikely Nats trade him to the Mets. I also don’t think such a massive deal happens during the season. Although, I‘m not sure the Mets should go there. He’s a great young player but I’m more worried about the payroll and future contracts. The Mets have multiple FAs. Alvarez and Baty could fill multiple holes cheaply. I get it’s Cohen but everyone has limits. Are we ok letting Diaz, deGrom, Nimmo walk in FA because we signed Soto? $500M contracts will require sacrifice. Honestly, other teams have “talked” about it but who exactly?

I don’t know how others feel?

no doubt a great talent but Agree Mets should not go there. 15 years crazy Nimmo a keeper. Terrific lead off hitter.

degrom will be real interesting how much he wants Diaz has been terrific also

I think no matter where he goes he's going to test the market (Boras).

Really think there no chance the Muttsies get him via trade. Imagine Harper and Soto both on other teams in the NL East. OUCH!

Also, Alvarez is a nonstarter in any discussion with anyone. You don't trade the #2 ranked prospect in the league. Especially a catcher

I don’t want to trade for him. Let’s trade for a DH now. F Boras. Kid is excellent but in fine with our outfield right now we need a DH bad

I agree. I can't see the Nats trading him in division.

Prospects are hit or miss.

Did I think an infield of Hojo, Kevin Elster, Greg Jeffries and Dave Madigan was going to be the best in baseball and lead us back to the World Series in the early 90s?

Sadly, yes.

Did I have visions of Pulsipher (sic), Isringhausen (sic) and Wilson being our version of Maddux, Glavine and Smoltz?

Sadly, yes.

So I've learned to never fall in love with a prospect and will gladly trade them for a superstar. See Preston Wilson.

Jon Heyman just put out a tweet that CJ Cron may be available with the Mets as potential suitors.

Of course, if you read the article the Rockies are split on being a “seller” because they like some of the players. Typical Heyman going for clicks. Cron is a reasonable DH target depending on availability. He has some legit pop even with the Coors Field handicap.

Yanks might make Joey Gallo available to the National League team in NY.
